Before I ask you the question, don't come back with "Thou shalt not tempt the lord etc etc" We have all read the bible and me more than most as I was locked up for over 3 years with nothing else to read.
Would you have the bottle to stand up in the middle of your high st, throw your arms in the air and call out, "Come to me, I wish to talk to you about Jesus)? I am not talking about a crowd of you (We can all do that) I'm talking about you alone? Would Jesus give you the strength? It would take a lot of courage but the rewards could be enormous. I am not trying to tempt you but would you have the bottle? or do you need backup? As I mentioned before, don't throw bits of the bible back at me.All I want is an honest answer. Mind you , you can always pretend that you never read this.

I would have the courage to do it, no doubt. I typically don't mind being thought a freak.... however, I would not do it like that because it would be more likely to drive people away and make them afraid. I don't want people to be afraid of Jesus, I want them to know about His love. I think I would be more likely to wear a button or something that says, "want to know Jesus? ask me how!" Or even carry a sign, which is less threatening than yelling in the midst of a crowd.

I'm certainly tempted, so I may be doing the wrong thing here by being tempted to do it. I'll let you know how I go tomorrow. As a Christian I read the bible probably the least out of everybody (I read it during my schooling years but strayed from it up until recently), I believe the bible is the nest that we all must fly out of once we have our wings, but it is okay to revisit the nest when we need to preen (or grow new wings when we have flown beyond our means). Jesus never taught from the bible, He taught from his observations and inner beliefs, the bible came later. DWJD.

As soon as one realizes that Christ is more important than man, he can easily do it. Most people know that I love Jesus and if they don't want to hear about Jesus they stay away from me.

Of course, I am an old woman and what people think about me matters no more. I only worry about what Christ thinks about me and getting people to know Jesus.

Very good question, young man. At some point in all of our lives we must take a stand for the Lord. Even Joshua shouted it "Choose you this day Israel, who you will serve - God or man."

I find this question very interesting because I read a scripture a short while ago that has been my point of meditation, and it was about courage. It would take a lot out of me, but I think that if God helped I could.

I don't know what the bottle means but If Jesus ask me right now to preach his word I believe I would do it and yes it would be hard because I can be a cowered but I believe he would give me the words and courage to do it.

I can't answer because I don't know what "have the bottle" means. Do you mean would I have the guts, backbone, gonads, etc? (Sorry, American slang.) I have never felt led to do that, but if Jesus told me to do it, Jesus would give me the strength. But I would have to be really, really sure it was what I was supposed to do. Honest as I can be.

Yes I would have the courage and conviction if required.

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and knocking on some doors takes the same strength.

Sorry, but why, again, would I want to do that?

Why shout out in the middle of a public place that I want to discuss any form of religion, when I can easily sit here in the comfort of my home, log onto Yahoo Q&A, and discuss religion with people who are already here to do the same?

No I wouldn't do that

but not out of fear

I believe that it is your witness not testimony that will lead many more people to Christ

than trying to beet them in the head with a club and bullhorn to talk to them about Jesus
