Hi! A couple of weeks ago, a priest, a rabbi, and myself participated in a seminar about Abrahamic religions, in which we found so many things in common between Islam, Christianity and Judaism! They share a set of moral values, a common God, most of the Prophets, the belief in life after death. They have common enemies: ignorance, lack of morality, lack of faith, crime, poverty, etc etc.
Also I can see that they share the problem of having some very ignorant people among their own members, who try to find fault with others, pick fights, judge, attack, even without knowing what they are talking about!!
If someone is claiming that "Islam is war" versus "Christianity is peace", then how would they explain the crusades, the Inquisition, the conquests of the "new World" headed by priests who participated actively in massacring people. They didn't like references in the words of Jesus:
Matthew 10:34
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Luke 12:51
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Luke 22:36
He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Of course, I still believe that Jesus is the Prophet of peace, as much as Muhammad is, but I know that their words are being taken out of context.
Peace/salaam.
PS. just a clarification. The so-called "Holy Water" in Christianity is not the same as the "zamzam" water in Islam. I doubt it very much if any Muslim calls "zamzam" as Holy Water.

I will request you to read before you write, because your question is childish. In fact there cannot be more than One God who is running this huge universe. Quran says if there were more Gods than One, there would have been chaos in the universe instead of harmony and uniformity. God had to send different prophets because after some time people forgot the original message and /or made amendments, like calling Jesus son of God. Mind you God is not human. He cannot have sons and daughters like man. God is by very definition UNIQUE and ALONE. Since the previous nations lost the original scripture sent to them by God Almighty, He has finally sent a copy of the Quran through Gabriel to Muhammad, gradually and the Original is safe in heavens. Plus God had undertaken the responsibility that not a word of it could be changed. So it has not changed in 1400 years. Not a single word is different. Now printing press has been invented and therefore people will continue to have the uninterrupted guidance of Holy Scripture no more prophet will come. Only Jesus is about to appear on the world horizon. He will confirm the prophethood of Muhammad and will avenge conspiracy of his death from Jews. Javed Iqbal

well, christians and muslims have different beliefs on entering heaven, many christians believe that they will be the only ones entering heaven because they believe jesus is the savior and stuff. and muslims believe anyone who believes in the oneness of god will go to heaven. and in order to believe in the oneness of allah(god in arabic) you can not put anything on the same level as god, so that would mean that christians who believe that jesus, who was a man, is equal or is god in human form or that he is god's son, are not considered people who believe in the oneness of allah
but there are other similarities i guess, but there are sooo many different types of christians

We have nothing in common except our humanity.
It is that which we must respect, allowing each other our civil and human rights, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, and live together in peace.
At this juncture in history it is Muslims who stand against that and insist on pursuing violence for the sake of religion.
Obviously not all, but you fail to discipline your own.
The ball is in your court.

Well, they both believe they should spread their religion. Of course, the Muslims think it should be done in a different way.
"Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah." Qur'an:8:39
"Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war." Qur'an:9:5
"Fight them and Allah will punish them by your hands, lay them low, and cover them with shame. He will help you over them." Qur'an:9:14
"Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission." Qur'an:9:29
"Allah wished to confirm the truth by His words: ‘Wipe the infidels out to the last.'" Qur'an:8:7
While Jesus said, "He who lives by the Sword shall die by the Sword," Muhammad said, "The Sword is the key to Paradise." (Quotes might not be exact depending on what translation you go by).
And the comparisons go on and on and on...

They have nothing in common. From Genesis to Revelation, it is all about Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Almighty God.
Jesus said, "I and the Father are One." Jesus is God.
