ha! the news! the bias media! i mean especially non government owned news programs are forced to 'spice up' their stories so more watch the advertisements.

taste is subjective. I generally find the storylines of CSI and Nip/Tuck to be unpredictable which I consider a trait of quality.

you know some stuff people really underestimate and underplay. example: avatar the last airbender.
it's a nickelodeon cartoon show, im a senior in high school and i watch it. it's not some silly little kid thing like spongebob, and i am 100% certain if you were to watch even a little bit of it, you would want to watch more. the problem is people think it's stupid and they refuse to watch it, or they watch it with the mindset that theyll never like it so that they tune out or take it off in like 5 minutes. quality television isn't a channel, it has to do with the creators. Monk, on USA, is quality. an AMAZING series. and Avatar the Last Airbender is also quality. [you can watch avatar without downloading at avatar-chapters.com - but im not advertising for this, just fyi]
it's all up to you. some people give ignorant answers. dont fall into their one-sided trap.

Quality television is in short supply. But personally I think many of the programs from TLC , National Geographic and Discovery are good quality. As far as drama goes I used to like CSI, but it's too gamorized now.

Shows with humor and trivial information we don't normally come across. Shows and programs from which we can learn from and that challenge our own perception of things are what I consider 'quality' television.

Nova on PBS. Much of what was on Discovery about ten years ago. Not a whole lot that's on these days though.
