Not a cat,but a chihuahua. She had kidney failure also, gave her fluids she lived for awhile. Then the vet said we should put her down. It's better to put them down, and not let them suffer. It's very sad,I know. I'm very sorry for your cat,but she'll be better off even though yall will miss her very much.

This is one of the most common causes of death in Cats I'm sorry to say, I've lost three to it in the past.
It sounds like the Kidneys have shut down and as painful as it will be for you, your husband is right.
Please don't let him suffer, Kidney failure is very painful, and Cats are experts at not showing just how much pain they may be in.
I really feel for you, but I think you need to be strong enough to let him go now.

i recently had a cat pass away from kideny failure :( Think about your cat...if you love her you wouldn't want to see her suffering...if she looks like she is in pain the best thing would be to put her down. You have to be strong even though you will miss her very much. Spend the last few hours with her telling her tht you love her.....i'm really sorry about your kitty ,i know how hard it is too lose a pet :(

No, not yet. One of mine throws up regularly, he has a mass attached to his liver that's inoperable, it is larger than an egg and presses on his stomach (he's 16). The vet has him on 1/4 tablet of Pepcid a day, twice a day if needed. That's helped tremendously, he only hawks up when I forget to give it to him.

She has loved you for 15 years. Show her you love her, and don't allow her to suffer any longer.
