NO, how insulting!!! Would you consider yourself to be "damaged goods" if it were you? First, no one is a "good", like a commodity or some thing. Each person has value. Secondly, how can you possibly consider someone "damaged" when rape is a violent assault, not only on the body but the mind as well?

Who ever it is, needs your compassion and help, not your judgment.

I regard them as someone who might be in need of some special care. I regard the rapist as a target. Someone very special to me was brutally assaulted because she tried to stop a rape or an assault. It had a psychological effect for certain, but the same person that is a loving caring individual is still there. My answer is therefore a qualified "no".

of course not the rape was not a choice and its a terrible situation where the person involved was completely helpless and the victim and they should never be made to think that they have done something wrong because they have not in any way and anyone who thought they were damaged goods would be a disgusting human being whom you wouldn't want to know anyway!!

How can you claim someone as damaged goods? Your not buying them. Damaged goods only applies to trade values. Not person values. Just cause someone is raped does not detract or lessen their value as a person.

welcome to modern times.

now the hymen isnt a sign of virginity anymore, but you lose your virginity when you have safe, sane and consensual sex for the first time. now both genders are equal cause men dont have anything "to pop" like women have. equality matters in modern World.

rape is not sex. its violence. a victim is damaged in some way, they are suffering emotional pain, and physical injuries on genitals can also happen. but they are never "damaged goods". if a hymen is a sign of virginity, then many gynaecologists take womens virginity when they have to use the speculum. hymen is just a "cover", like when you buy juice in a carton, there's a cover that you have to penetrate to get the drink out. did I just take juices virginity? what if a childs tooth is about to fall out? they are excited about the tooth fairy, but someone that is violent punches them right on that tooth, it falls out and the tooth gets lost. so that childs teeth are "damaged goods" now?

I wish people wouldnt listen to those rape myths.

No i regard them as being unfortunate and they will have difficulty in explaining how they feel to someone. If this is you, you need to see a councillor maybe and talk about it, there is help out there for people. i cannot understand any man who would regard them as damaged goods and if they did believe that they are not worth being with.

that takes all the human aspect out of a brutal, hateful crime. to replace the victim with a label "damaged goods" is just someone trying to detach themselves from the human, the real, the personal. to give one a number instead of a name is to say they are not on the same level as you they are beneath you they are not real, have no feelings, thoughts, emotions. they aren't a bethany or a kelsey they are merely damaged goods no different from that lamp you bought from amazon.com or ebay

Only from the standpoint of their mental stability! Short of being tortured and killed, rape would have to be a mind crushing blow to any-ones self esteem! Think about that! ;-(=

No, i have the most utter sadness for anyone that it happens to :( its really bad that people in this world would actually resort to doing that =(. it doesnt change my thoughts of the person at all and if it happened to a girl i liked it wouldnt change anything.

no, thats a terriable thought
people that are raped should not feel bad because of another humans actions.
it must be a really terrifying experiance but they should know that there is always someone that will love them and repect them aswell.
