Why shouldn't you be able to have your own knife in your own car? Especially women. People have a right to protect themselves.
I remember in high school people could carry a knife to school as long as it was in a case and visibly attached to your belt. And students with pickups could have a shotgun as long as it was in the gun rack on their truck in the school parking lot.
I think we were a lot more free back then.

You can carry a sword oin your car and not be arrested. It all depends on your siatuation. If your being stopped for a possible crime committed like a store robbery at gun point and you match the discription and have a long knife in your vehicle you can be charged with that as well.

If an officer has reason to believe that you may be a suspect in a crime he has the allowed to search you and your car. The first question he will ask is if you have any weapons, such as guns kinves, etc. If you do you tell the officer where all the items are he will take them for the time being. If you lie, he searches you and your car anyway. If you lie you can get arrested.

Where?? What state?? what country?? How old are you and where is the knife--under your seat??---OH I see--you have it because you are a collector--it just fell under the seat. How big is this knife?? Make sure you pull it out when the cop stops you--hold it like you mean it--NEVER BRING A KNIFE TO A GUN FIGHT--being arrested is a real possibility--if you don't get shot.

Usually not for that by itself. How did the police come to be looking through your vehicle?

In my state we can carry pistols, rifles, shotguns...and knives. The last time I was stopped at a roadblock, the cop looked down at my pistol on the seat, asked me what caliber it was, nodded, and waved me through.
Depends on whether you live in a free state or a slave one.
