I have noticed it time and time again... in the first chase stage they are just 'there' for you. Then, it doesn't take long and they subside... You know, they call you at 1:00 am just to hear your voice, or on msn as soon as you sign in... send you sms's 'just to say'... then you find it starts to slip and you end up scratching your head...in confusion and worry. I have spoken to female friends and we almost all agree - all guys do it - even the ones who stick around. Its just like its some shallow primary 'show' to get you in a spin? You get to the stage where you are not impressed by it, or if you really want to beleive it this little voice inside says 'it's just the preliminary dazzle'. Does anyone else agree with me on this and how do you point it out to a pursuer not to fall into this 'intial heat volume thing', that its not necessary to establish a relationship. Normal is best.

They call it the honeymoon period, when two people are just getting started and they want to find out everything about each other because its all so new and exciting. However as time goes on and you eventually know everything there is to know, you should become relaxed and content.
This is why its a bad idea to go out with someone who you have loads in common with, because that point in time will come alot sooner.
It doesn't mean they are not interested in you, it means they are happy to simply 'be' with you.

The word you're searching for is "courting..."
All male animals (us guys included) "court" the females...this requires such an enormous amount of energy and enthusiasm that to keep up that "high level" of "courting" would burn us out within 2 years...leaving us a broken empty shelluva' man...
And you women do it, too...in your own way...
You can't get enough sex for the first year or two...but then the kids come...and it's all over for poor Daddy...Your husband becomes your "child," too...because your motherly instincts are so strong...
All people become your children...
Works both ways, love...you women don't keep up the "courtship phase" for very long, either...

Guys are the hunters, they like to be the chaser, always. You need to learn how to allow your guy to 'think' he is chasing you. Once you stop resisting and start relaxing, he gets bored. The trick is to have alot of friends and continue to talk to different people all the time. Men are easily bored, BUT, they are also extremely possesive, use it to your advantage

Since the caveman days--it is the thrill of the chase. Like fishing--it is casting the bait and seeing what you reel in---men are visual and instant gratification creatures--women are the emotional--need stroking all the time creatures. Why do women dress up and use perfume and stay fit and trim until they marry and then get fat and scream and yell and dress like hogs. It works both ways.

Guy who are mainly out for sex, exhibit this kind of behavior. If a guy is really into you, and wants to stick around, he wont act like that. The guys you are talking about are "hit it and quit it" guys.
