If his English is good he would get a job caring for the elderly. Agencies generally pay the best money. Hope this is helpful.

My husband is from Iraq and came here to UK. He works in a factory and started doing factory work through agencies. He did some work for this factory through the agency and he liked it there. He kept asking about vacancies there, eventually he got a permeanent job there. He is a hard worker worker anyway, but he said you have to work twice as hard as an English person to get anywhere. If you're partner already works in a textile factory then that is good - go for the factory work, and very often the best paid jobs are in manufacturing. I disagree with Graham F, one of the answers before, about care work. Don't go for that. It's bad pay and you get treated bad too. My brother and other friends have worked in private care homes and that's their experience - that it's bad conditions and bad pay. My husband is on good money. So I would recommend your partner stopping in the sort of work he's already doing, and start via the agencies over here. And register with quite a few agencies. Some are better than others, and if they don't offer you any work to begin with, keep phoning them every few days to ask, otherwise they'll forget about you. If you keep phoning and asking they will put you for the work. You have to be keen and eager. If you don't very often phone then they'll think you're not interested in working.

Good luck to you both!

Well I think you have just answered your own question as we are such a terrible lot you obviously wont want to come here after all in fact you have now shown your true colours well done I can now point out that in fact you are the racist one.
How dare you call us lot racist and make out we demand special treatment when we work away we our the most tolerant nation on this planet and in fact when we get the opportunity to work in a different country we actually expect a bit of discrimination as bad as it sounds we just accept it.
I was about to answer your question seriously in fact I will.
If you are serious about coming here you will find it so easy to get a job over here this country has something called "Positive Discrimination" were the minority groups have special treatment, housing is easy for you and after spending two years of working here you will probably be able to go on the sick for the rest of you life and live on benefits.

My husband moved here 5 years ago from Spain but he is orig from Morocco - found it difficult at beginning- Registered with a few agencies and did office cleaning, hospital work, factory work. Then started on Security. Although the hours can be difficult its not bad money if you get the right employer. It all really depends on the level of English. If its not great then it wont be great jobs available but then he can register to an English Language course in evenings or weekends. My husband worked hard in shitty jobs for a few years and now has his own security company so working hard pays off.

The first year is difficult - but get through that together and youll be fine.

You don't really mention WHY you want to come to the UK - if we're really so "stupid" and with "no sense of brain" then why on earth would you want to come and live with us?

Anyway, if you are European Union citizens, then you can work here easily. As he is not, he will need an entry and working visa. Information on the requirements and whether or not he meets them is available from the Home Office.

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/servlet/Front?pagename=OpenMarket/Xcelerate/ShowPage&c=Page&cid=1006977149962 - this one takes you through a step by step thing that tells you whether you need a visa or not, and what sort you need.

http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/lawandpolicy/immigrationrules/part5 - and this one takes you through the entry requirements.

Before you start looking to see if you can get work I suggest you check up if your partner is allowed into the UK as a resident or to work, I would think that having Ghanaian citizenship is not going to help,
