I was 19 when I met my fiance. We met through mutual friends at uni, we were all in the same dull course... We were friends for a few months and we just clicked.
We started dating a few weeks before I had to go home for the Christmas holidays and he called me every second night long distance for 4 months lol.
When I got back to uni we dated for 6 months, living together for maybe 4 months of that period of time because it just felt so easy and right to be together all the time. Then one night we were out shopping and I watched him laugh and smile as we pushed the trolly around and almost asked him to marry me. We had a little laugh about that, but less than a half hour later he cornered me amongst the groceries in the kitchen and asked me to marry him. I must have said 'Oh God... Are you sure?' about a million times before I said yes... I was twenty long before then lol.
My mum believed I was too young to even be dating seriosuly so I had to ease her into the idea of me getting engaged. lol
During that time he had my ring hand made, and said he wanted to propose properly with it when the time was right.
So we got our first apartment together (we rented his parent's investment home before that and I don't think it counts lol). And we got the keys and walked around, and he dropped to his knee in our empty bedroom and said 'Make me the happiest man in the world and marry me forever'. And even though I had an inkling that it was going to happen my stomach still dropped and I still got tounge tied and girly lol.

My fiance and I have been dating for 5 years. We met when we were 16 in high school, became really good friends, started dating at 17, moved in together when we were 20, got engaged when we were 22, and we'll be married in June 2008 at age 23! The proposal was: I left the room for 5 minutes, and when I came back the lights were off, and there were roses and candles everywhere! He gave a nice speech but I can't really remember it all because I was crying :)

I was 23 and he was 26. We met through a mutual friend and the first day we wer eintroduced, he asked me for my number. I had just moved to the area about a week or so ago, and just got my phone a couple days before, so I barely even knew my own number. We still have the piece of paper (it was a guest check from a bar/restaurant) to this day. We dated for 3 years and then got married about 2 years later. He proposed to me by a lake at nice at a place in upstate NY where I took him to meet my family shortly after we me. It's been love ever since.

my first husband and I met in Junior high and dated several years later for about 2 years before we were engaged and married at 20 and the proposal was more of a secret between the two of us but when given the ring it was more of a mothers ring or so the rest of teh families thought. This time with my current fiancee I met through childhood friends at 25 and dated for two years. On Valentine's this year I recieved the ring but no proposal. :(

I met my first fiance when I was 16, through a mutual friend. We dated for a year, lived together for two years and were then married for 12 years. He proposed when I commented on his nice after-shave and said it was his "Will you marry me" after-shave. I thought he was kidding, but he was serious!
I'm about to marry for the second time. I met my present fiance at the age of 37, when I changed jobs and we met at work. We've now been together for 5 years and will be married in 13 days from now! The proposal was very quiet - he just sat next to me when I was sitting on the back doorstep drinking coffee and looking out over the lovely green valley in which we live, and asked me if I'd like to marry him.

I met my husband when I was 18, and a freshman in college.
We went on our first date when I was 26.
We married when I was 27.
We had our first child at 28 and our second when I was 29.
He is 5 years older than me.
He dropped the ring in a glass of champange at a restaurant and got down on one knee. Everyone thought he lost a fork under the table! He took my hand (the wrong one) and I kept trying to take it back and give him the right one. We laughed and then he proposed. That was 6 1/2 years ago.

15, I had just moved states and was the new kid in school. I was seated behind him in 1st period in 10th grade and he was my very first friend at my new school. We were good friends (and both secretly pined for each other) until the end of Senior year when we decided to give dating a go. We dated for 2 years and then I had the worst proposal in history bestowed upon me. Literally, it was awful, he threw the ring at me with a completely pissed off "Will you marry me?" (Worst part was that he had actually planned an awesome proposal, but he never followed through with it because he was afraid I would figure it out.) So then we were married 2 years later after we graduated college and both were settled in good jobs. We celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary in 10 days and are fully in the midst of planning our 10th anniversary extravaganza. It's been quite a ride.

I met my fiance' when I was fourteen year old...He was the good friend of my best friend/cousin, and was seventeen. When my cousin developed a crush on him, and he didn't return the feelings she told me that he had said and done horribel things to her, so (the protector, haha) engaged him in many online battles. I was hell-bent on destroying him. He and I talked for a while, and by the time I realized that we could have been good friends, it was too late. That's the moment that my cousin chose to tell me it had all been lies, that he had never said or done anything to her. My messenger stopped working, and a year passed when it suddenly popped up, and he was online. It gave me time to mature and get away from some bad influences. I felt the strongest urge to apologize for the past, and a voice told me that it would be a mistake not to, even though I ordinarily wouldn't bring up like a past transgression like that. He and I started talking, and became friends. Nothing more, as we were both involved with people, and the timing was still wrong, particularly age wise. Well, that winter I became my great grandmother's main caregiver, and a short time later her illness took its course, and by te time I was sixteen several of my friends had died, and my cousin and her family stabbed my family and I in the back. My fiance' was there for me through it all, even though he was friends with some of the people involved. When I was sixteen I graduated from highschool, and planned to start college at seventeen. He attended the same school so he promised to show me around, and not to let anything happen to me, like a brother. That was when I knew my feelings were changing, because I didnt want him to be like a brother to me. Right before I started college, and a few weeks after I broke up with my boyfriend (because I didn't want to lead him on when I no longer had feelings for him) I told my fiance' how I felt. To my surprise he felt the same way. We've been together ever since. He proposed last month =) He knows me better than anyone else, and picked the very ring I wanted without knowing it. He's my best friend, the half that makes me whole, I love him completely, and it makes me laugh to think that I felt quite differently at fourteen.
The entire week before his proposal he had been doing romantic things, like a surprise candle light dinner, but he made sure that he asked when I least expected. We were walking, and suddenly he pulle dme into is arms, kissed me, and asked me to marry him. Because he was saving for a ring (he was able to to give it to me soon after), and didn't yet have it, he gave me a while gold tanzinite and chrsytal past, present, future necklace =] It's a a sweet reminder of that night, and was chosen because it matches a special ring of mine.
