okay, so my friend and I smoked **** in my dorm room. Somehow, university residence smelled it and called the police. They never caught me red handed, but I have a meeting with the counselor on Weds. Should I lie to him, and make up a story? or should i tell the truth.

ps please don't send rude comments. i quit doing that ****.

Find out what the confidentiality code is at your school. If the counselor can get you in trouble, as much as I don't like lying I probably would, it's better to make your own decision to stop than to get in legal trouble and possibly get expelled. Just make sure your story doesn't incriminate anyone else, and make sure there's no way they can prove you're lying.
If the counselor can't get you in trouble, just tell him the truth. You can find out these policies in your school handbook which they should have in the admissions office or information desk.

I can wiggle and lie my way out of something like that easy... and if you have a history of wiggling out of things from your previous schools I'd suggest pull your old acts.

Only wiggle out though if you can prove that by no way they can prove you guilty. Also, think about everything that could come up. EVERYTHING. The only way to have a lie that doesn't twist and turn on itself and come back to bite you worse is if you can cary the whole thing through without changing or morphing it to fit new questions.

Start with the basics:
Who found you, who elce was there, who are you talking to
What could make that smell. what were you doing?
Where could it come from. where were you.
Why did this happen
How did they find out and how will they mostlikey punish you(if found guilty)?

You'll need a concrete alabi that no wholes can be poked through. go over and over it from every which direction. Build your case well. Believe it too.

Write down everything you can remember too. The whole scene of them finding you and any thoughts that stem off of it. Often times if something is left to stew in your brain you'll selectively distort it to say what you want. You want to keep it as intact as possible. This also helps to re-read to comb over it again.

Dont let anyone see these notes, i'd recomend burning them or shreding thoroughly. Never know when something will be dug out of the trash. Dont burn it in the dorm though!!

lies take a lot of work. sometimes its easier to tell the truth.

It depends on how long you have been clean. If it is long enough to where you will pass a drug test then i say lie. But if you know you will fail a pee test i would man up and tell them. Let them know what you did was wrong and stuff. But be aware you may get expelled or takin outta the dorms. Tuff decision but good luck with what the outcome is.

if they can't prove it then just lie. there is no sense in telling the truth. they're going to tell you this story about being moral and how they can help you, etc. don't fall for it. if they know the truth then they wouldn't even bother talking to you, right? think about it; if they really know that you did it, what's the sense in wasting time waiting for you to confess? they want you to confess because they cant prove it so they use the bullying technique to make YOU prove it. who gets hurt when you lie about this? no one. they will just forget about it and everyone goes on with their lives. who gets hurt when you tell the truth? YOU. maybe your parents. maybe your friend and his parents. might be hard to believe but honesty is NOT the best policy. at least in this case.

found out what might happen if dont lie. and if it aint that bad, do that(tell the truth). coz if you lie and someone finds out, itll get so messy!!

lol lots of people have said things like, "i dont uasally lie, but...." but im the other way, i WOULD usally lie, lol. but maybe not in this case,

ONLY LIE if you are sure that you could pull it off. if you have any doubt that it may not go too well, dont try it.

goodluck, i seriously hope everything turns out okay for you!

I think they will know if you are lying so best to be honest and accept the consequences since you knew you were wrong in the first place. By smoking where you shouldn't you knew you were taking the risk of getting caught.

Lying is as wrong as drugs. But if there is no evidence the fifth amendment protects you from self incrimination. Plead the fifth admit nothing listen to the counseling and move on. Lesson learned.

I wouldn' t tell them ****. Only if the staff is retarded would they not expect college students to smoke weed. So the counseling is either a formality or just a trick to get you to confess. Screw them, whats wrong with a little bud anyhow...

Lie away my friend. And take the detox stuff and OFFER a pee test to them to even further hammer it home.

Good luck.

I think you should come clean and be honest. Also, add that you have definately learned from this. Be prepared to take the punishment, though. But still, its worth it to know that you are honest about it.
