Is there any way (or reason I can use) to postpone my ship date? I'm set to ship april 11, but want to postpone to early june so I can finish spring semester at school. What can I do?

that's a good reason( as opposed to some others) BUT you run the risk of losing your A school slot AND if that puts you over the 12 month DEP limit, you will be discharged altogether and not be allowed to ship at all.

You need to talk to your recruiter.

IF you are able to change your shipping date you run the risk of losing your rating/job and any enlistment bonuses you may have signed up for.

IF you change your ship date you are changing your entire contract that you have now and will need to get a new contract will all new information.

Lets say you signed up to be a Hospital Corpsman and you are going to get a $10K enlistment bonus.

NOw you want to change your ship date. There may not be any seats available in June like you want for the job that you chose. You then will need to pick a new job and will lose your old job and its bonus.

You now could be going to boot camp in August because that was the first open time and your job is totally differnet and has NO enlistment bonus.

Let your recuiter know now....he/she may bluster that its not possible but it actually is....However, comma, pause, and a big foot stomp, if you have a reserved job, you may lose it and have to recompete for it again. For instance, I was supposed to go in in on 8 Aug, but my younger sister decided to get married on 10 Aug and as we are very close, there was not way I could miss it. I talked about it with my recruiter and I had to give up my slot....my option at that point was picking a different job or waiting until December for the next slot. I really wanted my job. So I waited until December.

confident, in case you have a reason, you may positioned off your deliver date. yet comprehend, which will substitute the fee you have been gonna do nd any bonus's you will have been getting. in case you walk away and don't deliver. Your will relatively be suspending delivery out continuously. they'll make you wait a minimum of 6 months in the previous they might even refer to you back.
