I think Education these days neglects whats relevant and forces an outdated curriculum upon both Teachers and Students, in Australia with a new Government appointed over the weekend, they are striving to standardise and update the Education curriculums in High School.

Personally I don't think it's harsh compare to what kids in other countries have to learn such as China or Iran. Most high school students in America take 5 or 6 subject classes when other students in foreign nations have 12 subjects.
But I do agree that we learn some useless stuff. Like I don't get why kids have to take bio or chem classes if they're going to become say a architect or lawyer..That I don't get. Some countries have their high school students take classes based on what they want to major in that way they're not learning useless stuff but stuff that they will need for their careers. On the other hand it's kind of good how our high schools offer a wide variety of classes to every student because some kids don't know what they want to major in so this way they can explore and narrow down their options.

yes! very very harsh. if I really did use the things I learned in school, I would make a Christmas lantern and I wouldn't have to buy one. I would make all the circuits in the house when I could have an electrician. I would tell myself which plants in my garden are vascular and non-vascular. I will fix the pc myself. I'll write a report of my trip to the mall. I would be observing the map on my spare time... who'd need to learn that anyway?
in the phils we have a filipino subject where we study our own language. its useless since everyone knows how to speak the language and no one'll notice you're wrong.
i never thought someone had the same thoughts as i did.
good for you. :)

Definitely plenty of useless stuff.... but no one is saying that it all is supposed to be useful information. It's more about that the student is having their mind stimulated on a daily basis. Some info is interesting to some. And when the student realizes that some of the info is useless, that is when they really begin learning, and hopefully they take it upon themselves to start learning more about what they find useful.

in case you're taking a attempt and there is not any grading gadget, how do you comprehend what solutions you purchased incorrect? How do you study the perfect solutions in case you do no longer study out of your blunders? now and returned you're able to desire to nicely known what solutions are suitable and which of them are incorrect, because it does make a distinction later on. Math, as an occasion. What if we in simple terms had negligible solutions for addition and subtraction - quite while it contains money transactions? think of a international without computers and you had to get your paycheck from an accountant who failed math! Frankly, if I had my very own corporation and mandatory an accountant, i might hire the guy who have been given "A" grades in math and accounting! If I had an engine restoration save, i might hire George from my classification who have been given an "A" interior the lab section. i might hire Anthony (who have been given the 2nd optimal grade) and George who the two had the activity journey who were repairing vehicles because they have been 12. If I had to hire a supervisor i might hire the guy who have been given a minimum of a "B+" straightforward on their MBA software. and actually, i choose docs and dentists who have been given A's and B's on their very final exams - might you like a dentist who graduated with a "C" straightforward? Yeah, i might say marks and grades are nonetheless sturdy indicators of exhibiting that somebody has grasped the certainty and talents required for the activity handy. Even in English grammar - that is "DO marks carry any fee interior the cutting-area-day education gadget?"

YES! It is useless. If they started letting us learn and specialize in things we want to do when we are in high school we would have a better work force and a happier nation as a whole.

Parents are complaining about too much homework for kids! But other countries (especially Asian) are far ahead in quality education for their children.
