Maybe someone who speaks english can enlighten me for a second here. If Puerto Rico is such a small island, why does it seem that there are more Puerto Ricans in the U.S. than in their own home country? And while were on the subject, why is Puerto Rico a commonwealth of the U.S.? What does P.R. give back to us, besides hundreds of thousands of immigrants, that still wave their flag in our faces like they care nothing of our country??? It's like P.R. has a free pass to the U.S. for some unknown reason, and I really don't know why they deserve that.

Apparently most of you can't even read what I said. I know P.R. is a US territory, also known as a COMMONWEALTH, which I said in my question. What I am saying is WHY are they a commonwealth? They give the United States NOTHING back! They have their own politics, own language, own government and MANY, not all, but MANY of the people who come here do not want anything to do with our country exept exploit our privelages. They laugh at me in spanish when I walk into a store, do you think they're appreciative of all the people that gave their lives to make our country what it is. Read the answer one of these punks wrote down below, "As long as they piss off whitey". This is my point exactly!! They consider themselves an entirely seperate nationality, even while they live on our streets.

Are you from North America? If so, I have to tell you how ignorant you are. Puerto Rico is a territory of USA since 1898. Seriously, you don't even know US History?

Wait a second. If I fly a California flag, I'm not anti-American, I'm part of America.

(I'd be a bit PECULIAR, but that is a different question.)\

Puerto Rico IS a commonwealth country and those are the rights under the Jones Act. Take it up with Congress if you don't like it. The people are doing nothing wrong.

Essentially, we semi took away their sovereignity, so we semi gave them citizenship. Periodically they vote on if they want to be a state and say no. Personally, I'm fine with that. If they change their mind, we can look at it again.

Puerto Rico is a territory of the US and it is the reason why its people have technically free access to the US. Thus, they must decide whether to be under the US indefinitely or chose to be an independent country.
