Your body is made up of acid and alkaline. You have to maintain a certain PH balance or your organs can fail you, you can then get what is called cell displasia, which is responsible for cancers, that is why they cry out about anti-oxidents in everything. The anti-oxidents come from, you guessed it, fruits and veggies. You can supplement them very well with products from GNC called Maximum Greens and Maximum fruits. I think they are some of the better ones. You naturally make acid in your blood which translates to "sugars" and the free radicals are created through injury or exercize and natural repair functions of the body, those cells get misdirected and once they land in the wrong place will send for more cells to be sent there and after that you will get cancer/tumor/cyst. Another harmful effect of having this imbalance is blood infections, when your blood has acid/sugar in it bacteria love this and will start to attack your red blood cells bursting them and you will in turn feel extremely tired without even doing anything. So please eat your fruit and veggies so you can remain vital and healthy. Also people have the wrong idea about how fat is stored. If you eat 6 times a day your body uses what it needs and dosent store as much as eating 3 times a day, the reason being is that the body drops into starvation mode if the calories are under a thousand per day and if you eat too much at any one meal and the body satisfies its sugar energy needs, then the body stores it, no questions asked, and you are more able to prevent this storage by not overeating in the first place because you are famished by the time your main three meals come due. I hope this makes sense. Good Luck hun.-Rachel

There are certain vitamins and minerals that your body needs every day but your body can't produce them on it's own, so they have to be ingested and the fruits and veggies provide a large amount of your daily nutritional requirements as well as a good source of fiber, which keeps your internal 'trains' moving smoothly along the track.

Vegetables provide vitamins and minerals that help the body use other food nutrients and fruits supply antioxidants and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) which strengthens the body's immune system to fight off infections. Fruits also supply sugars that give daily, sustained energy.

Fruit and vegetables are good for your digestive system and help to prevent clogging up.

They also contain enzymes (such as chlorophyll) and antioxidants (such as bioflavonoids) that you need for good health and they also contain some trace minerals that you need.

Besides that, they also contain plenty of vitamins and minerals.

Furthermore, most fruit and vegetables are slightly alkaline and help to neutralise the acidity in our bodies.
