I don't hate the Bible, I just find a lot of it absurd and disturbing. Especially the Old Testament.

I don't "hate" the bible or the koran or the torah ... I just believe they were scribbled out on stone, animal skins and hand-made papers by ancient peasants and shepherds who were afraid of eclipses and had an IQ of an orange. (collectively) The stories were old village legends passed down for generations until finally somebody decided to write the tales and teach the ignorant masses.

I believe the churches and clerics of the time saw an opportunity to rise above their status and gain control and power ... so they did.

They made up ridiculous, outrageous tales of an angry, vengeful God who could control the weather, drought, locusts and plagues. They said he could turn rivers into blood and make the day sky black. These are pieces of fiction that terrified the simple people and kept them in line.

But we, of the 21st century, know full well that none of that nonsense is possible and aside from these so-called "holy books" that the gullible peasant people believed, hook, line and sinker ... there is not one valid piece of evidence in the world that any gods exist or that giants, talking snakes or people-eating whales do either.

SOME of us are not as naive as others. It just never happened, or COULD happen .... or WILL happen. It's the biggest hoax in the history of mankind.

i wager muslims were very aggressive in modern years. we've considered it - Iran in 1979, countless terrorist activities on condition that. which could produce a "organic" reaction, ie human beings oftentimes get offended by others' undesirable behaviour, and this behaviour is definitely coming from practise contained in the Koran, even even if it isn't what maximum life like muslims receives desirous about. The "organic" behaviour is morally incorrect contained in the experience that God would not opt for us to react out of offense and revenge etc. yet starting to be a loving individual takes time. a lot of human beings contained in the West aren't any further even religious and so basically see the nasty terrorist violence and so dislike the religion which motivates the deeds.

I think it is quite a good book with all the morals in it and everything but the only problem is that a lot of people tend to get brainwashed by this book and live their lives as though one book is able to run and guide their lives. It really is a pity especially when you hear the deluded say things to you like: " Jesus Chapter 2: He shalt not betray his religion or ways...... verse 3 paragraph 5....." and so on. The book unfortunately is indeed a brainwashing type.

I love the Word of God and the only ones who hate any part of it are not believers. The Bible contains the words of life.
Nothing in it is absurd, it is truth and just shows how mighty and awesome our God really is.
If you read it with an open heart, it will do wonders in your life.

Yes, the whole darn thing. Anything good from it I can make up for it elsewhere in some other book.

One example? The entire book of Joshua for starters. It's a book about genocide.

The bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be saved, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler's map, the pilot's compass, the soldier's sword, and the Christian's charter. Here Paradise is restored, Heaven opened, and the gates of Hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It will reward the greatest labor, and condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents. It is the Book of Books-God's Book-the revelation of God to man."
