answer: Yes, I was raised Christian and was very active as a young adult but left wanting, depressed and suicidal. I struggled in AA for awhile and then found paganism. I got sober and began a long road towards finding a positive self esteem. When I found Heathenism (a form of paganism) I knew I had "come home" to the religion I was meant for. The best thing I could have done for me was leaving Christianity. I've found that most former "witches" that are now Christians were involved in Hollywood type "witchcraft" b/s and not in the religion of Wicca or other pagan religions.

You raise a good point. Why should you be an ist just because you follow an ism? Catholicism people aren't called Catholicists, they're Catholics. I think you should go with atheian (or whatever bastardization of greek we can come up with).

Peace to you.

Because...theist means you believe is God and when you put the a in front of it it makes it someone who doesn't believe in God. But i guess you have a point there, it doesn't sound as harsh as the ist, maybe we should start a movement you and I, wudda you say, we can gather a bunch of followers and we shall kill anyone who doesn't see it our way, yeah?

Because Atheism isn't a lifestyle. It's just a single belief.

Oh surely you can find some other aspect of your life to be an 'an' about. For example, I'm an Americ'an'.

In Portuguese:

pagão, cristão, vegan, judeu, ateu.

It's a little more complicated than English, so stop complaining, and thank god *cough* for what you have :)
