My boy and I were parked in a parking lot, and we were both "messing around". A cop pulled up next to us, asked for our IDs, looked at them for like 5 seconds, gave them back to us, told us to get on home and then left. We were both over 18.

More than likely, since he didn't give us a ticket or anything right then, we won't get a phone call or ticket in the mail or anything like that, right?

OH YES! But your story sounds like just a warning! If you weren't doing anything serious & he didn't take any info down your probably safe, He most likely was looking at your age. But the answer to your question if yes, if something bad happened there even after you left, they would be looking you up! I work at a jail & have seen it happen. Yes Maam, they can look you up later! It could be as a witness or suspect cause they know you were there. They can even catch you on camera or film and come get you! Consider yourself lucky this time & be careful.

When I was going to college I got flash-lighted by cops several times and they do not generally give out tickets to young lovers. They will forget about both of you in about three minutes after they pull away.

That depends entirely upon whether or not your 'messing around' satisfies any non-juvenile indecency statutes.

You should look those up. Remember, though, that statues exist on the state, county, and city levels, and can be vastly different between them.

They have up to a year to file charges.
He probably won't file anything except that he asked for your IDs. I wouldn't worry about it .
