Dear Guy-from-Britain I se your heart goes out to the fishes.
Well bud right now there is a river next to my house that has millions of dieing salmon. Yep thousands are gasping for life with nasty fungi and mold growing on their bodies, other just lay there as the eagles and ravens pick out there eyes while they die.
What horrible thing happened to them? Was it man? A toxic waste spill? Nope it’s called: “death after spawning”.
All natural death and suffering. Its called natures way.
Things eat each other in nature that’s the way it works. It’s all about the food chain. And we humans are on top of that food chain because we use our brain and devise ways to stay there.
We are mammals that eat food to stay alive and fish is a very important food source for man.
So you can cry crocodile tears over the fishies all you want. Please do! But it won’t change a thing silly!
For you see if man doesn’t shoot the dear, duck, etc or catch the fish; its still going to die a painful death. There is no way around this fact. When a big fishy eats a little fishy,…um it must hurt some don’t you think? Suffocating in that big fishy’s gut while the stomach acids eat away your flesh.
You anti hunter/fishermen people are incredibly naive.
But there is no reason good enough for you to bug the hell out of sportsman.
Thanks for the thumbs up fellow sportsmen. But I never answered the question. So I don’t deserve best answer.

I've never met anyone who was specifically against fishing. I know more than enough people who are anti-hunting in general, though and these people couldn't catch a guppie from a fishbowl. This is mostly due to their weakness from not eating meat (lol).
People who are against hunting and think it is cruel to kill the animals should keep in mind the cruel things we do to each other all the time in our daily business. Its okay by them to injure their fellow man in business but shoot a deer, hook a trout!? What a sin!
I don't get this anyway because all of the fishermen I know either eat what they catch or more often throw it back, in fact most of the places where I fish are catch and release only for salmon or trout so why would anybody be against that?

People against fishing probably haven't even tried and don"t have a clue as to what they are talking about. To go fishing would bring some pleasure into their miserable lives, which to them is unacceptable. Let's all hope that they couldn't catch a cold if they tried, we would all end up paying to cure it if they had their way.

I'm sure people who are against it WON"T go fishing anyway, so it doesn't matter. I wish I was so bad at catching a fish that I couldn't catch a cold...it'll make my life easier not having a cold!!

Well said Jim A! Jim A is a friend of mine here in the Panhandle of Alaska.
We have spent a great deal of time together hunting and fishing. Jim A and I are not gun experts like JD and others here but we have a great deal of experience hunting game all over the USA.
We both share the dislike of anti-hunter and anti-firshermen.
And we have spent so much time around bears our wives think we smell like one lol !

People who against fishing probably do not enjoy outdoor activities. They don't have the patience required. They might say it's cruel but they still enjoy eating fish, as long as other people do the killing and catching for them. Still sometimes, they are simply not interested.

It's so ridiculous, I have never heard of such a thing. Are there really people against fishing? If so I know them not, and don't care to know them.
Fishing has been around since before Jesus Christ, in fact I think at least 10 of the disciples were fishermen. If it's good enough for Jesus it's good enough for me.

Catching a cold pales in comparison to landing a trophy fish and releasing it so it may spawn and continue adding to the gene pool.
BASSMASTER I like the fact you chose a line from BASS Fisherman's profile to make your point. It is nice to see he's back.
Pheasant tail i feel the 'left' would rather hire someone to kill their food in an assembly line fashion than lower themselves to barbarian behavior. Talk about a double standard.

And most people against fishing wouldnt even know where to begin to rig up a fishing pole and get the right bait to catch a catfish. lol

I believe it depends on the situation...........
If you had to fish to survive......you would,
and probably become quite good at it or else you would starve. So, even though some people are against fishing
(whoa !!! I think I felt a tremor, the country must have shifted
more to the left) they could become good at it.
