I don't think it will kill the relationship, he will eventually get used to the idea. Hmmm, I would think he would be happy having his best friend, someone that he likes and trusts, to be with his sister, I mean it could be worse, it could be some crappy stranger that treats her badly ya know? Talk to him and maybe he will be more reasonable after he has time to think about it.

In the majority of situations like that I've seen, brothers of the girl will pretty much always go against it. It's interesting, cause they can fight so much, yet when this comes, brothers are very protective of their sisters.
So really, it's common for the brother to be against it.

Is she a younger sister? If so, he's probably just feeling very overprotective. Plus, the fact that you two are so close to him probably scares him. I mean, if the two of you get involved and break up...he's kind of stuck in the middle.
It is your life and your decision. But, do try to respect his feelings as well.
Good luck.
Go with your heart.

I dated my friend's brother and she was PISSED!
I still don't know why but I have thought about it. Perhaps she wanted her friends seperate from her family. Maybe she thinks i wasn't good enough or vice versa.
The best solution is probably to ask your friend.

Either he knows another side of you and doesn't like that side or he's very very protective of his sister.
I'm very protective of my sister. I wouldn't be fond of my friends dating my sister... and many of them are decent guys. Also, I think I would be concerned about how our friendship would be affected if things didn't work out.

give him time, it may be a shock at first because guys are always protective of their sisters.
soon he will realize that you liking her is better than some other man that may end up hurting her. just give him some time to cool off and everything will work out...eventually.
