I am sure each one does understand these words you quoted in the way they desire to see them. I personally am not a judge so I will not say they are wrong,

You make it sound like protestants are the only people who go to church. All religions go to some kind of church. Protestants don't just go to church to pray they also fellowship with one another as do all religions. You are taking "when you pray close your door" out of context. He says not to be like the heathens who stand on the street corners to be seen by others, they have their reward (and it's not going to be good) but when you pray go to your closet and close the door and pray to the Father so that the Father who sees you in secret will reward you openly. You can't just pick a line out of the Bible and know what it is saying. You have to read the whole chapter or maybe the whole book to understand.

I don't think you understand that one can pray anywhere.......
Thessalonians 5
17 Pray without ceasing.
First Epistle Of Saint Paul To Timothy
Chapter 2:8
I will therefore that men pray in every place, lifting up pure hands, without anger and contention.
Gospel According to Saint Matthew
Chapter 6
5 And when ye pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, that love to stand and pray in the synagogues and corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men:

I'm not protestant, but i do believe same thing applies to most religions. Basically it means don't pray for show, when you pray its you and god. Its not you and everyone else watching you. If you pray for world peace, you don't go around telling everyone you prayed for world peace or what not.
Its a social meeting too. You meet people of the same faith.
You tend to hear a sermon too. Humans are forgetful by nature, need to be reminded of things constantly.

The "church" is actually the congregational gathering. Most folks think the building is the "church", and it's amazing how much money is provided by the members of individual religious philosophy that is used to build "greater, and showier, and more impressive buildings in which to "pray".

Jesus tells us to pray in private so as not to brag about what we do. We go to church to worship God and fellowship with other believers. This is different than speaking in a loud voice so others can think highly of us.

If you would read the whole Bible, you would find many places where people prayed out loud and together and God granted His favor for it. What Jesus was stating that we should not pray in public to receive our rewards from men and not God. He was searching and exposing our motives for praying.

We gather together to be taught and have fellowship with one another. The type of prayer you are talking about is the intercessory prayer that one does in private. The scribes and pharisees liked to show their piety in public by having loud and elaborate prayer sessions in the street so all could see. Jesus told us to do that at home.

You don’t go to Church just to pray; you go to church to hear the word of God. Faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the Word of God.

The prayers to them are basically requests for intercession. We Catholics understand and be attentive to that grace comes basically from God and no person else. because of the fact all anyone is one vast kin created by employing God, the two in Heaven and in the international, all of us be attentive to we are able to wish for one greater, asking God to help those we adore. a similar applies to Mary and the saints. additionally, they have been perfected and are right now in God's presence, so how lots greater acceptable and effectual are their prayers for us? Make experience? God bless.
