What is the difference between "bake" and "broil"?

Question

I found a box of buffalo wings in my freezer, but my microwave's broken. The box says you can cook it in the oven for 15 minutes, too, but doesn't say whether to set the oven on bake or broil.

If the box gives you a temperature, such as 350 degrees, then you bake it. Broiling instructions won't give you a temperature. Are the wings already cooked and just needing to be warmed up? Then yes, bake it. If they are frozen and raw, 15 minutes on a bake is not enough. Then broil.

I'm quite certain though that you need to bake it.

(Broiling cooks close to the very hot heating element on top; giving you a crisp skin and tender meat; baking will cook the food from both elements at varying temperatures. If a recipe tells you to roast something, you still set the oven on BAKE).

If it doesn't say broil, then assume they mean bake since more things are baked in an oven than broiled.

Broiling will cook things from the top, so the upper layer will cook faster than the middle or lower part of foods. That's not good for most things.

great question madhavi:) yOU know though these words sound synonimous but still there lies a "deep" difference !! Happiness can be found of things which may not even be beneficial to our spiritual or psychological aspect like we may go out & have our favourite dish & clothes etc., we would feel happy. But satisfaction comes from a kind of achievent, if we get good grades in studies we would get a positive feeling that says "hard word paid off" now thats more beneficial isn't it ;p[ Now peace.... I think it depends on what attitude we adopt towads the "activities" we do for "happiness" or either "satisfaction", peace actually exist in our self, it just has to be found by us. A person of ignorance might feel peace while a hard worker could be strresed. It can be even oposite to that . So peace needs to found by us.

bake=roast dry
broil=roast(cook/can be done stovetop)with liquid.
I think these should be baked in the oven.

If it doesn't say, then you should just bake them, not broil.
