cuz my friend had a ps2 and it took a really long tme for it to read his games and i thought it was cuz he left them in the systm

Yes, you can leave games or DVD's in the PS3 while it's turned off. The disc's aren't going to get damaged and the PS3 console isn't going to be damaged in anyway.

You could even leave the PS3 on for 20 or more hours straight with a game in it and it would be completely fine. Sony made a well built console, so you don't have to worry about anything. Just make sure that the PS3 gets the proper air flow.

No read the manual you should never leave a disc in the PS3 when its off period.

its not good to leave any game in any system after you are done playing with it. its just not recommended and seems kinda lazy. plus y would u put your games at risk wen u have a perfectly good case for them?

The only downside is they can collect dust if left there for REALLY long period of time. It won't hurt them though, no.
