When I was a child I suffered a lot of tonsil infections, at that time I was treated with tons of antibiotics, and eventually I was diagnosed with chronic tonsilitis, after several years of pain and suffering my tonsils were finally removed at age of 15. Then I started to live a "normal" life, so to speak. When I got my first job a hearing test was performed on me on a special isolated cabin, they did not tell me the result but it was obvious that it went wrong. However I never felt that I had hearing limitations and supposed the bad hearing test was due to old equipment. Since I am fully billingual and have good communications skills besides musical abilities, I really never noticed anything wrong, but since I married four years ago my wife keeps telling me that I am almost deaf and that I do not pay attention to her. WE FOUND I HAVE BAD HEARING!! and the worst: apparently I am slowly loosing hearing. haven't gone to the physician yet, but I wish to hear opinions. any hope?

Yes, I do experience some tinnitus, one of the new findings on my poor hearing, I never realized it existed because it was the normal way to me since I have memory.

First get a medical checkup. Your reduced hearing may be due to something as simple as a buildup of wax in your ears. This can be quickly solved with eardrops to soften the wax, and maybe syringing.

Perhsps you have a buildup of mucus inside your ears, which could be solved with medication or by inserting grommits into youre eardrums to drain the fluid.

Finally, perhaps you are going deaf. you could get hearing aids or even the modern cochlear implants.

You really need to see your doctor for the correct diagnosis and treatment. Best wishes!

What?
(sorry, couldn't resist)

There are some remarkable products and medical procedures available to aid in hearing loss today.
Hearing aids are better than ever, longest battery life, best performance, and smallest sizes. Check with a hearing loss specialist. Insurance will often cover much of the cost.

For very serious hearing loss there are actually medical procedures that can provide outstanding results for the right candidate. The "artificial ear" of sorts is available. This stuff is expensive and not right for everyone.

This is something I have feared myself, when was about 15 I had a severe sinus infection, lost my hearing for several days. I've always had sinus trouble and continue to struggle with it. Luckily my hearing is as good as ever. I hope you are able to find a solution.

You could get a hearing aid, which would likely improve your ability to do the things you want to do. Getting help and support for what is going on will help you find what you need. Miracle ear has free tests, if that helps.

Do you hear ringing in your ears? Even if you don't, the American Tinnitus Association does a lot of research on hearing loss and ringing/buzzing/chirping ears. Check out their website and subscribe to their mag.

Good luck

LOL humorous question. My wager is infants do get exhilaration from infancy. As to the adults, in case you're fortunately married and your better half commits adultery, I doubt you will get exhilaration from it. Dang, I had to pass and get serious on you. LOL

Waiting is a bad idea. The longer you wait the worse your prognosis is.
