Humility begins with suppression of egoism. It is in removal of "I know" and "I have" from your vocabulary. This is a practice of vital importance, especially in religion. How many times have we heard someone on TV or in a church proclaiming loudly, "I have the truth. I know what the way is!" In Taoism, it is said, "A great man is one who does not know of his greatness, but lowers himself below others." In the Epistle of James, he says, "You have your faith by your words, but I will show you my faith by my works." Jesus, when one of his disciples calls him master, says, "You call me master, but I come to be a servant to all." The Buddha is quoted as saying, "The greatest king makes himself a worm upon the ground." Each time you proclaim your superiority (by your religion, your possessions, or your intellect), you are only declaring your inferiority among those who kept their tongue still and used their actions to speak for them. The wisest men are good listeners, not good talkers.

Humility is a quality or characteristic ascribed to a person who is considered to be humble. A humble person is generally thought to be unpretentious and modest: someone who does not think that he or she is better or more important than others. Anyone can be humble if they put their mind into it. If they want to be humble!!!!!! it is just a matter of wanting to be like that. If a man sets out to be something or do something, nothing in this world can stop him!

Humility is knowing, deeply, what you are. That is that you are a human creature and that are no better than anyone else, because whatever you have was given to you by God. (By the by, this also makes you no worse than any other human). It is knowing that you are no worse than Billy Graham and no better than a crack ho.
You can be humble understanding who God is. Seriously. Once you realize who He is in His glory, you can't help but be humble. That isn't to say that all religious people are humble. Humility is hard. But I would say that continually looking upon Him and understanding Him rightly is what cultivates humility.

When you know who you are and you know what you know is true, but bring this into such a way that the others have the option of taking it or not....
When someone project their faults on you but you know what is happening and that one is actually begging for some confort and the forgiveness that that one cannot find inside for the own self .... and so you don't react but protect that one in whichever way you can.... You also understand that that particular time may not be the best time for the other to understand and accept truth, and so you just remain quiet - maybe later on that one may be brave enought to take benefit from the truth..... you only tell the truth if you believe that it is going to benefit the other......
When you always check that you never attract other's attention on you but everyone's attention - incouding yours - is on the one who is indeed the most worthy of attention.
When you heart just melts in the love for God, but you know that it is God's love who makes your heart like this. You never say 'God I love You so much' but you say 'God You love me so much that my heart is melting for You'.....
When you understand everyone is right in their own way..... and everyone has same potential and anyone just by understanding how - they can make use of their potential and bring so much benefit to the self and others..... you actually cannot tell for sure who is better than who .... you just float in the ocean of seeing everyone's specialty.....
When you ask questions although you know the answers..... and listen instead of speaking......
But maybe the biggest form of humility is when there are no more reasons and needs for the self and so all the deeds and the whole existance becomes an instrument for sustaining and uplifting others .... to be instrument in this is such a great proof of humility....

humility is to be down to earth, not to take things for granite. You can never really be taught how to be humble. but really take it upon yourself to see the other side of how people live and how an action will effect the other person. It takes work but you really can be humble.

Humility is to understand that ' the more I come to know, I come to realize that I know nothing at all'. Humility is to know your insignificance in the world. One can be humble by subduing his vain ego and at the same time upholding his self esteem, pride and dignity.

Humility is very subtle ego, which is more dangerous. Also humility is always to others, which means that humble person is still "you" and "me' mode, which is against spiritualism.
