if he looks your way and if he is a slight distance away from you smile at him and mouth the words hello.
or
you could ask him what the time is or where a particular street or place is and maybe it may turn into a conversation etc.

Just be yourself. Don't say anything or act in any way that would be blatantly obvious that you're putting on a show to get noticed. Guys don't like fake chicks and vise versa. Being yourself and letting your own personality shine are key factors for getting anybody to like you and accept you, not just love interests.

I think most guys LOVE it if a girl came up and started a conversation with them. I have done it myself. It takes the pressure off the guy. It doesn't really matter what it's about. You can ask him for help with something like opening something or reaching something tall...guys love to be the hero. Once the conversation is started, you get a chance to see how much you have in common.

Smile at me, come up and ask a question.
But, to be certain, she should leave her number and ask me to call her for some reaon.
You really have to be forward if you want to choose who you date.

Act and dress smart. Not nerdy just smart. Not too smart then you got the librarian look which then leads back to the jerks...
