All sins can be forgiven except final despair. All that matters is the last second of your life. If you are truly sorry at the very last second of your life, you can be forgiven regardless of how sinfully you have lived up to that point. Heaven is a gift and cannot be earned. That is why final despair is preceded by the sin of pride in that the person figures he should have earned Heaven. However, how you live before that final moment greatly influences your final decision. Pride precedes the fall. Final despair is probably interpreted as blasphemy of the Holy Spirit in that it doubts its power to save you.

I believe that the blaspheming is saying something counter to the truth, when the truth is already known. A mistake is a mistake, but this one is done on purpose, with evil intent. As if someone were to do a hateful thing when the Spirit is trying to lead that person.

What happens to such a person is their relationship with God changes. They become uncaring for the things of God, that may be called grieving the Spirit. The Spirit of God leaves that person for the purposes of salvation. The person no longer cares, and turns his back on God and all the knowledge gained through the Spirit.
