I think the OCR-software can help you to convert paper to computer text, but your font must be clear enough.

OCR-TextScan 2 Word

This may not be the answer you are looking for, but I have needed to copy hand written text into a word processor document in the past and I find that reading the text into Dragon Naturally Speaking works well.

Rather than scanning, try a speech-to-text program.

There are such applications that can do text recognition from a scan; I have a program that uses the OCR method(optical character recognition). I have linked to a wikipedia article containing this technology, and it includes a list of software at the bottom of the page. However, it does sometimes take good penmanship to get these programs to correctly convert the text.

The best software which is recommended is OmniPage Professional 16:, it can recognize your handwritings and convert them into words. The program is over 800MB to download... here we can deduce that this is a very good program. Contact me if you need more details of where you can download it.
