There is no way that the Bible is the true Word of God. It was written by people for their own personal benefits. Most of the original Scriptures contradict each other, at least until the Church did a little clean up.
In the mid-300's CE, the Vatican decided to do a revision of the Bible and make an "official" one. To do this, however, they had to decide on official teachings they wanted them to support, which they voted on. The main decision was the divinity of Christ. They couldn't agree whether they wanted Jesus to be God or just a man. The vote was close, but they decided to have him be a God. The next order of business was to get rid of all if the Scriptural writing that contradicted this decision. At the time, about 400 or so Biblical works, both Old and New Testament, were circulating around the Roman Empire. These were gathered by the Church and filtered through. Those that went along with the divine-Christ idea were kept, while the others were burned. This narrowed the number down to our modern Bible of 27 New Testament books and 45 in the Old Testament. These remaining were revised and then translated from Hebrew or Greek or Coptic or whatever they were in to Latin. Unfortunately, a lot was lost in this revision. For example, the word that was translated into "virgin" that described Mary was really Hebrew for "young girl." That just means she was about 13 or 14 when she got married. Nothing to do with not having sex. Although the Immaculate Conception is the basis of Christian belief and apparently confirms that he was more than a man, the original Bible writings claimed no such thing. Another example of this is the condemnation of the homosexuality. In Leviticus, it says "you shall not bed with a man as you would a woman, for it is an abomination." There, the Bible says that gay people are abominations. Wrong. That is a complete mistranslation. The original Hebrew used the word meaning "marriage-bed," stating that the man it was speaking to was married (as almost all Jewish men were). The translators also took the liberty of replacing the word meaning "wife" with the word "woman." This was taken out of context of the laws against adultery. It only really said that it was wrong to bed another man if you were married, with nothing against homosexuality in general. The word translated as "homosexual" in Paul's ministry was also incorrect. The word he used originally referred to a male prostitute or child molester, not homosexuals. Paul never really said anything against gay people at all, yet Christians today are using the Bible to take away these people's rights.
That is why today finding original Scriptures not included in the "official" Bible creates so much controversy. They contradict what the Church has attempted to teach for the last sixteen or seventeen hundred years.
Anyone who claims that the Bible is the unbiased Word of God that should be taken literally is a complete fool. I'm sorry, because I usually try to be more politically correct, but I can't help it. I don't tolerate ignorami well.

The Bible was originally the word of God when it was first revealed. But with time people basically customized it to include what they like and exclude what they didn't like. That's why there are MANY MANY contradictions in there. The Quran is the true and final word of God. It is still the same as when it was revealed. It contains very many scientific and medical miracles and so many things that upon a detailed analysis, you will have to submit to the fact that this book could not have been written by anyone....not 1400 years ago, not now, not ever.

There is a dual authorship of the Bible. God and man are both authors that are fully involved. The text was written by people in the context of the time and writing style of the human authors, but inspired by God. So ultimately, the messages of truth related to our salvation, faith and morals told within the stories, poems and songs of Sacred Scripture are infallible.

One should keep in mind that the BIBLE as a collection has only been around since the 4th century. 363CE Council of Laodicea names 26 New Testament books as "inspired word of God"; Book of Revelation is excluded. It took Revelations another 20 some years to be added to the list. Actually, the Council of Laodicea only essentially ‘approved’ Bishop Eusebius ‘recommended reading list’; Eusebius, that great Church propagandist and self-confessed “liar-for-god”.
One should note those that in Genesis 11, the Tower of Babel story god came down and CONFUSED the WORD. Christians like to say that it was only languages that were created and confused, but the Tower of Babel was in the generation just following the FLOOD so according the the scriptures, only one people and one language or WORD at this time. Furthermore in one of the OT prophesies its says that god will restore the WORD on the 'day of judgement'.
Zeph 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.
then there are verses like...
Deut 30:14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.
EXO 4:11 The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD?
1 Cor 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.
Ecc 8:17 then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all his efforts to search it out, man cannot discover its meaning. Even if a wise man claims he knows, he cannot really comprehend it.

The bible contains the accounts of people who received messages from God.
This is why it was written by people. God used people to convey his message to others. Every servant of God speaks his word and they do not claim to be God.
Just as these prophets relay the message to others; the bible serves the same purpose.

You know the Jews had lost the box carrying Ten commandments and Torah due to their disobedience. And their rabbis were in the habit of changing the contents to please the rich.
Similarly new testament was not written until 90 years after Jesus. The true manscripts by sincere companions of Jesus were rejected and the ones written by later day saints accepted. Gospel of Barnabas was rejected in its entirety
because it was not compatible with beliefs propounded by Paul. Jesus never claimed he was son of God. He always
called himself son of Adam. But to appease Roman empire they gave him a divine status. Because they claimed to be
highest human beings.
No wonder, therefore, there are so many contradictions and inconsistancies in the Bible.
Therefore real word of Almighty God was required which did
not change and cannot change till doomsday. That is
holy Quran! It is verbatim the word of God

The Bible is the inspired word of God. God led men to write what is contained in the Bible. God also went one better than simply writing it. God sent His Son to teach, preach, and fulfill what is written in the Bible securing our salvation. Many things written in the Bible OT came into being-reality hundreds of years later, in the NT.

God told the men who wrote the bible what to write. =]
Then the Bible was changed and interpreted by other people, and things may have gotten skewed in the process.
Unless you're reading the original Hebrew version of the Bible, you aren't reading the EXACT word of God, but unless you know Hebrew, then NIV or King James, or whatever version your church uses will work.
Personally I believe the original Holy Bible is pure and without error.

Not only was the Bible written by people, it was edited by people too. Chapters that did not agree were throw out (sorry, voted out) until at least we have a semi coherent story.
