I don't want Botox or do anything surgical, or the likes of either. But I would like to know if microdermabrasion or chemical peel is more effective for maintaining youthful appearance and skin rejuvination, so I can weigh options when I finally can afford to do either.

Thanks a bunch!

microdermabrasion is gentle exfoliation of skin and you can do it regularly at home..
chemical peels are more drastic and expensive; and will cause unsightly drying of the skin prior to major peeling..
either way, always moisturize because these procedures revela new skin that needs to be hydrated.

There are some fine do-it-yourself microdermabrasion products on the market that go a step further than homemade exfollients like sugar or baking soda. You might want to try one of them to postpone the day of spending $$$$. As for chemical peels, I don't know enough to advise.
