I have answered this many times the biggest difference is when the make Miracle Whip they cook the base, water, vinegar, spices/seasonings, a starch thickener, then add eggs not all yolks, and emulsify it with the oil, in the southern US it is known as a "boiled" dressing, Mayonnaise is held stable with the air and oil added to the eggs, spices, vinegar, lemon juice and seasonings, it is not a cooked base product. When I was chef here in Canada, we bought a generic product by Kraft called Salad Bowl it was like MW but lighter and less sweet.

Really ? I didn't know that . Would you care to list the ingredients for miracle whip ?
Mayonnaise is not disgusting . If you've ever had fresh scratch made mayo you would know what a
thing of beauty mayonnaise can actually be.

Miracle Whip is a unique product. It does seem to start out much like mayonnaise, but has additional sugar and vinegar, which defines it as a salad dressing. mayo has no sugar, or a tiny amount.

mayonnaise is real, and evolved over many millenia.
Miracle whip was created in 6 days, thus the name, 'miracle'.
