I am- and it has changed my life for the better. In more ways than I could have imagined- you've got the jist of it by the answers here. but the best place hands down to learn a little more on a non confusing site is www.mormon.org You can also go to lds. org like others have mentioned- but it's a little harder to move around for people just wanting to know the basics- it's main design is for members in looking up talks, lesson manuals, church magazines and researching topics, so you might find it harder to get the simple questions answered. I would love to go into great detail the wonderfulness that the LDS (mormon) church has brought me, but answers that long just get skimmed over anyway!:) So let me just say, that out of all the religions that i have gone to, and learned about- this one makes the most sense to me. I feel complete. Before listening to sermons and pastors, it seemed like they left me with more questions than answers, and that was frustrating. When I finally searched out the church and started studying, it brought so much peace and understanding in my life, that i knew so strongly that it was true that under no circumstances could i deny it. I will be honest- the standards of living that required to be a devote member are above all worldly standards- and as someone who used to party, there are times that i want to grab a drink and make an uncomfortable situation more comfortable- but i know that i was not happy when i was doing that, and that since i have swaped the partying life for a life in the gospel, it is 1,000x better! And i would never pick up a drink again because of it! I cannot deny it's truthfulness! Thanks for genuinley asking!:)

I am mormon. I dont really know whats up with it, lol.

Explain it, wow, I can give a brief explanation, but if you want a more accurate and detailed one go to LDS.org

We dont beleive that Peter or anyone else ever established Gods church on earth after Christ and the apostles died, or disappeared. Had someone established an official church at that time it would have fallen into a deep state of apostacy so the priesthood authority was removed and the world was being prepared for when it was ready to have the fullness of the gospel plan to be restored, which it was when it was restored thru Joseph Smith. He also was given a book of scripture written by prophets in the americas, called book of mormon (named for a prophet that abridged the book), which he translated. It is in addition to the Bible. We do believe in the King James Version of the Bible to be the word of prophets in that region of the world. We believe that the original church of God was restored, along with the priesthood authority. That included a church with prophets, apostles and temple ordinances.

There is just so much to this that I think I will just let you go look up the specific beliefs if you want. If you have a specific question about something feel free to ask and we will answer.

This is an article that kind of explains some differences btwn mormons and mainstream christianity and how mormons believe our beliefs do fall in line with biblical teachings.

Mormons are Christins. Often, people think they are not because they do not belive in the trinity- the idea that Jesus, the father, and the Holy Ghost are the same being. Mormons (members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) believe they are 3 seperate beings.
Mormons belive in the bible, AND another book- The Book of Mormon.
The Mormon church is patterned after Christ's ancient chuch. (as depicted in the bible)
Mormons belive that revelation can be received in modern times, just like in Jesus's time, and also they belive in having modern prophets, just like in the bible.
For more info, go to lds.org
I hope I helped!!! :)

We believe that Joseph Smith found and translated golden plates that tell of a tribe of Israel that made it the Americas.
The book he translated is the book of Mormon named after one of the prophets. The book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. People called followers of Joseph Smith Mormons. There are two main branches. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, LDS, and the Community of Christ, formerly the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, RLDS. The LDS once believed in polygamy. The RLDS never did. The Church has a long history but this is a start.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormonism) is a beautiful Christian religion. Because Mormons are Christian, we believe in most of the things that Christians believe, including:

1) Christ is divine and salvation comes only through Him.
2) The Bible is the word of God.
3) Men ought to love one another.

Mormons are a unique branch of Christianity, however. We are neither Catholic nor Protestant, so naturally we have some different beliefs. Most of the differences are minor. One significant difference has to do with the authority to act in God's name. Mormons believe that soon after the death of Christ and His apostles, the early Christian Church was greatly influenced by Greek and Roman philosophies and political pressures. Despite the efforts of many good men and women, the true Church of Christ was eventually lost because of these outside pressures and internal, man-made changes. Mormons believe that God reestablished the original Church of Christ in 1820 through a man named Joseph Smith.

Hope this helps! Mormon Christianity has changed my life by helping me better follow Jesus Christ.

I am!! What's up with me religion? A lot!! ;) There are so many wonderful things about the church that it's hard to limit it to just a few things. The person who listed the Articles of Faith pretty much put it all out there. I would say go to the church's site and do some exploring (listed below). There are a lot of questions answered on that site. Also, feel free to email me. I'll answer any questions you have to the best of my ability.

I AM! And I love it! I have never been so at peace because I know who I am and why I am here. I am, and you are a literal daughter of our Heavenly Father. We came to this earth to be born and obtain a body, to be tested, and to try and return to Father as clean and holy as possible. Mormons are the nicest people I have ever met. I know that if my husband ever lost his job or we were in some sort of dire straights, that the church would feed and house us without problem. At church we refer to each other as brother and sister...(insert last name.) It is nice to know that we are all brother and sisters. Makes since if you believe the story of Adam and Eve. Most of the weird stuff you hear about Mormons is made up and spread by hate by people who are vicious. I have never been so happy in my life. I am glad that I get to raise my kids in this Church.

"What's up with your religion, could you explain it to me please?..."

You've gotten a lot of great answers.

The Articles of Faith (numbered 1-13) are a great starting point. One of our leaders actually wrote a book about these statements, it's called (surprise?) "The Articles of Faith"...

Another good place to start is if you can find a copy of the Book of Mormon- read it cover to cover, pray, and you can learn a lot.

IM me any time with questions... I'll be happy to answer honest questions.

Mormons, or members of the offical name of the Chruch, the Church of Jesus Chrsit of Latter Day Saints, believe in the following:
We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by eimmersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the agift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal gglory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them dworship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
