A DUI conviction can affect getting any job that bothers to do a background check. Each employer has it's own guidelines and makes it's own decisions. A "Federal Job" is an extremely broad area. I'd guess that the answer is yes and no, depending upon the job.

If the job in question has a drivers license requirement it will certainly have an effect. If there is a clearance issue it may also affect it. DUI's are generally bad for government employees.
