Yes. It's vegetable oil, so it will break down over time and not pollute the soil.

We keep old pickle jars and such and put used oil in them. Then when it is filled we just put the jar in the trash. But I don't think it's so bad to put it outside...away from the house.

It is going to attract rodents out there. Why not put it in some sturdy plastic bags and put it in the trash? If you have a lot you might be able to find someone who would come by and pick it up for recycling as part of biofuel.

No please dont do that. It can harm the soil and water both by cutting out the oxygen intake. Instead use it for lighting diyas or lamps in the house which is very good in terms of vaastu and fengshui. Or u can apply it on ur feet to prevent cracked and chapped feet.

No, because it will filter down into the groundwater, and contaminate the water eventually. It also makes a big mess. Better to put it into a container (gallon empty plastic bottle, etc). Then put it in your trash for pickup. And never put it down your plumbing, as it will plug it up if it doesn't go all the way down. Cold weather hardens it and you have a royal mess.
Good luck.

We do. Especially after deep frying a turkey (Thanksgiving). We strain what we can, give a bit to the dog and the rest goes out in the trees.

It's better than putting it down the drain...and it's not bad for the environment.

NO! Save a milk carton, pour in there and dispose in garbage can.
