By the end of 2008 sure... Provided we took the "PC" gloves off and actually fought the war like we should and are capable of doing. This would involve banning the media from the battlefield and from the war. Consider it all special ops. The media is a major player in disrupting the progress of our military.

Yes we can bring the troops home, but NO we cannot win the War in Iraq. We have not the force or the information to win this War. I have a cousin over there who is a tank commander and cannot stand the politics of this war.

In my opinion the job was completed when we captured Saddam. The war was over at that time. Our remaining in Iraq is uncalled for and although I have heard all the reasons why we must "WIN" in Iraq I don't believe any of them. There is no reason why American boys continue to die and become maimed when the Iraqi government cannot make up its mind what has to be done to preserve any peaceful solution and to get Iraq going in the proper direction for its future. We should pull out our troops at the present time and send them home or to Afghanistan.

We've won already. We are just helping to set up a government and infrastructure that will be able to be supported by the people, run by the people, and maintained by the people when we leave. The United States of America doesn’t take out a tyrant and leave before the country can stand on its own.

We already won in Iraq.

Stop disrespecting the troops. They won, the war is over.

We're now helping a struggling government get situated against thugs that want to own the country.

We did the same in Japan, Italy and Germany.

It's what people of INTEGRITY do.

They don't run crying to momma when things get tough.

They don't threaten to put our troops at risk for political gain.

They don't waffle about their support of the war, then and now.

They stick it out, support their friends and do what is right (kinda like President Bush).

Be a better American.

We can't 'win' in Iraq, in fact as time goes by the whole idea of 'winning' in Iraq is becoming harder to define.

During the Vietnam War, some smart-aleck (I forget who) said that the way we'd 'win' there would be simply to announce victory and pull out. If Bush is smart, sometime in the next year he will do that--simply -announce- that we have won and that the troops are coming home. The problem is that he's not smart. (Actually I expected him to do this just before the 2006 election.)

No. 2008 comes around in little over a month. However, if we revert the old style of fighting a war and kick some ***, we can be gone a lot faster than we're set to now.

For sure - but why would it want to? The interests served in the US economy by this war care nothing for domestic politics in the US or Iraq, by definition the worse the war gets, the more entangled, the more who die....the more arms are sold, the more service contracts are landed by the likes of Haliburton.... the notion that Washington is debating with the rest of the country over whether or not this war is just/winnable is farcical. They are merely strategizing over how to stretch it out for as long as possible...
