you really should be looking at schools that offer ROTC now. If the school you want doesn't offer ROTC, see if they are a crosstown school. If you are looking for a scholarship, we offer a great one called HSSP....good grades and leadership are prequisites. (It stands for High School Scholarship Program). One of the great things about this scholarship is if you find you don't like ROTC, the AF isn't for you etc...then after the first year, you can just leave, you don't owe the AF anything. You do not have to pay the book money ($450) or the stipend or the scholarship back. Beauty, huh? Check out http://www.afrotc.com for more info. We also offer incentive scholarships at HBCUs ( historically black colleges/universities) and HSI (Hispanic colleges/universities).

Take a look at the AFROTC web site

http://www.afrotc.com

Find a few school swith an AFROTC detachment, contact the aerospace studies department at those schools. the AFROTC site will have links.

Go visit them, talk to the faculty and talk to some cadets. They will be very helpful.

Good luck

You need to apply as soon as possible. You don't have to make an irreversible decision until after your first year, I think.
