I am 16, i have a almost 9 year old half sister. I usually say sister but this involves HER mother. Okay when i was 11 i saved up the money for a cell phone and 3 months for the bill. (metro pcs 1 flat rate every time) When i asked my Dad, whom i lived with since i was 6, if it was alright for me to have a cell phone he said "no, you are too young to have a cell phone, when you turn 13 maybe but not until." So i griped but got over it. For my 13th birthday (Aug 3rd) i got a cellphone. Then when the next year (nov) My dad came and said okay Britt i can pay your cell because i wont have enough for Tori(half sister) and Kyles (Brother) birthday and x-mas too. So no problem daddy deal was he was going to get a new 1 in Feb that year. Well i never asked for it and no longer asked for one until a few weeks ago when i started working.I needed one. But i dont have enough for my health insurance (50 a month) and a cell, he said i cant afford it. Oh well. NoT DONE

Today i got a call from tori from an odd number. (lives with HER MOM) She got a cell phone for her birthday. Get this her mother lives in a motel with my bro sis and some black guy (room Mate) Thats not right in the first place but she got a 9 year old a cell phone. A real cell phone, Verison. Well when she called i said let me talk to your mom. (mom was addicted to crack and i took care of these kids for 4 years.) So i said Kristy i dont care what you do when the kids are with you but when she is at our house it is our rules, She is not allowed to have the cell phone in our house and if she brings it daddy said ( i talked to him about this because tori was asking one) if Tori brings that phone to our house it will be taken from her and given to the womens shelter. (same thing he told my mom when she was going to get me 1) She said what the f*** ever, Tori dont worry about her you can do whatever i say you can no matter where you are at. a call to either of the kids. Not b-days xmas nothing. I dont think its right that she 1 has a phone after we already said no, 2 that she said the things she said after i told her what was said. Do not comment saying stay out of it, i cant my father doesnt speak to the crack head and i missed childhood to make sure they had one.

Okay Big point is Her mom went and get her a phone after we said no, then when we told her NO she may not bring the phone in out home, if she brings it it will be given to the shelter, she completely disrespected me by saying that tori could do whatever she say she was allowed to do no matter where she was.

That she is not respecting yous wishes to not bring the phone around.
But no i dont think that is right and i think u should tell her point blank blunt and a lil rude.

You have gone over and above the call of duty in caring for those children when you were only an older child yourself.
Your dad should be the one to deal with the mom, it's not fair to make you do it, but whatever.
I don't think you or your dad has the right to donate Tori's phone to a shelter, as technically it belongs to her mom, not her. You would be within your rights to confiscate it when she comes into the house, and return it to her (or her mom) when she returns home.
If Tori's mom is that bad, maybe your dad should try to get full custody.
