I've got average brown hair, with some old, half-faded blonde streaks. Will the streaks go green (or another colour) if i dye it? I want to do it at home because i dont have the money to get it done proffesionally... Will the kit work?

since you have blonde highlights in your hair the combination between peroxide blonde and brown haircolor can be disastrous turning into this ashy brown with heavy duty greenish overtones. To avoid this what I recommend is that you go red which is also called using a filler first to do this what I recommend is using the Clairol Herbal Essences #44 Deep red. Your hair with this haircolor is going to be a dark red. After you have gone red what I recommend is using the Loreal Feria #40 Espresso Deeply brown this color will give you a very dark brown color that looks black in certain angles. For under $20 will have the dark hair of your dreams.

You Can Color Your Hair As Dark As You Like. HOWEVER, You May Want To Use A Color AT LEAST One Shade Lighter Than The One You Think You Want As Most People Tend To Misjudge The Depth Of Their Haircolor. And You Can Always Go Darker Next Time. As For The Blonde Streaks Get A Protective CREME Color Like L'Oreal EXCELLENCE Or CLAIROL Hydrience Which Have A PRE-COLOR Conditioner That Will Equalize The Porosity Before Coloring. They Richly Condition And Protect Even Relaxed And Permed Hair. Also Use A NEUTRAL OR WARM SHADE As An Ash Shade May Leave 'Green' Or 'Blue' Casts On The Blonde Streaks If It Doesn't Take Well Or Fades Quickly.

ok ive done this just recently so i hope i really help you. i went from bleach blonde to almost black hair. i had to do it at home. go to Sallys beauty store and get the ion medium ash brown. if you have thick long hair get like two bottles. umm it might have a hit of green but trust me it looks good. i got a lot of complements. now if it starts to fade at all go back and get the same color. if you go to dark ash brown you hair will turn blue black! and trust me you dont want that. but make sure to get ion because that brand is really good.

good luck!

Yes it will work. I use Herbal Essence highlight or just permanent all over color. It works pretty good. But you'll have to use some brown hair treated shampoos to keep it brown. When I dyed mine brown, it went back to blonde in like 2 weeks.

Haha no they won't go green. If anything they might be a little darker because the lighter the hair the easier it is to color.

No, I don't think it'll go green. Dying hair darker is easier than going lighter. Good luck!

Yes. Anytime you color your hair darker than what it is it will be dark.
Your highlights will be dark.
If you get a good brand and get every strand and keep it on
it wont be green.

Good luck
