I had my done for my birthday when I was nineteen. The fairy that did my hair back then left the stuff on for 45 min! My hair was fried! Last time I did that. The newest and top of the line is called "Japanese Straight." You have to make sure that the people doing the procedure are experience otherwise they can mess up a would be good thing. It can cost anywhere from $150 to $750. Takes 5 hours. Lasts 6 to 9 months.

Any chemical you put on your hair is not so good. The chemical bonds that are your hair have to be broken, which will weaken your hair. However, if done correctly, the damage will be minimal, not even noticeable to the untrained eye. On the other hand though, if you normally use a lot of heat (dryer, flat iron) to style your hair every day, you are doing just as much damage. So ...find a good stylist, have him or her check out your hair and recommend which is the best route. Good Luck

I had it done, it looks great for a while but it REALLY messes up your hair. Makes it dry and tangles easily. I suggest you use Aussie products and a hair straightener.
