and if not...why is that a myth? Where did it come from?

Hi there...Cats have only one life like every living being. Therefore It is thought that people believed cats have nine lives because cats are very good at escaping dangerous circumstances.

"One theory on the origin of this expression is that in ancient times nine was a lucky number because it is the Trinity of Trinities. As cats seem able to escape injury time and time again, this lucky number seemed suited to the cat. While in most countries the cat is said to have nine lives, in Arab and Turkish proverbs poor puss has a mere seven lucky lives and in Russia, is said to-survive nine deaths."

No, they do not. Cats are Wiley and careful and can withstand all kinds of abuse that would harm or kill a Human. The Physiological structure of the feline allows it to survive in dangerous environments. It seems to People that cats are hard to kill and they are. A cat can take a hit and walk, persons are far more weak and vulnerable.

No they do not.

People make stories up about a lot of things, it's from an old folk saying. It's about as true as the saying 'step on a crack, break your mother's back'. Don't believe everything you hear.

No they don't. I think it's related to all their acrobatic escapes from danger, cats are kind of the James Bond of the animal world when it comes to escaping(Minus the tuxedo of course)
