If you are in danger of hurting yourself, you need to get to an emergency room and worry about the cost later. When I've been admitted to the psych unit from the ER, the ER staff gets authroization from my insurance company before admitting me. And even my stingy insurance company doesn't complain (they worry they'll get sued if I were to kill myself). If your need is not that urgent, call the hospital you want to go to and see if they take medisave or call medisave and find out what hospitals take it and how much they'll cover. I live in NYC and it costs at least $1500 a day inpatient. Here are some sites that might help you:

No matter how much money you have, you can't just prance into a mental hospital on your own. You should talk with your physician first and see what can be done to lessen your anxiety. Hospitalization is not always the best way to go.

Have you been diagnosed with that? Is that where your doctor recommended spending some time? If 'No' to either, please get checked out first. If 'Yes' to both, ...how else do you find the price of anything? Ask! or get a friend to ask for you. Problem is, All you'd get is a base (minimum) daily amount; but, how many days would you be there? Who knows? and how much would extras (drugs, etc.) cost? If your doctor prescribed certain drugs, you can ask this as well.

As to your last question, regarding coverage, the institution you're considering should be able to answer it. Good luck to you.

It depends if its private or public.. either way money should not stop you from getting the help you need, or you will end up in a worse situation.. anxiety can have serious longterm effects. Talk to someone and see if a therapist can talk things out with you and they should be able to give you a plan of action as to what you should do..
again dont worry about the money if you are in serious need of mental help.

I read your questions, and it looks like you need therapy, not a trip to the mental hospital, but that's just my opinion.

I was hospitaliced because of my SAD and AvPD which caused major depression. Did not really pay attention to the finances at the time, the best thing is just to go and ask.

if it's some ridiculous fee like 2000 bucks a day just avoid ever paying that back. It's bull honkey

Go to GP and ask for,EFEXOR.
If GP says you cannot have the anti depressive tablet, change your GP.
It "does work".
