You know...those paper packs that come in shoes, or purses to keep the moisture out?

since silica gel is made to expand when it comes in contact with water, it would expand inside your body, soaking up all the water as it goes. If you managed to choke some of it down, which I don't think would be a good idea, it would probably dehydrate you. Also, since it isn't digestible, it would probably stay in your system for a long time, further dehydrating you. In short, I think you would be in some serious trouble.
