Yikes, were talking collage! I've always had A+ report cards, except for the occasional A, and once even a B.( which never happened again)

Anyways, we're thinking Harvard. I know it's a wacky dream, but my parents are going to try ang get me in for an interview. I want to become a lawyer, and my parents say I have the brains for it. But suddenly, after I really thought, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to collage at all! I was suprised when I thought that! Should I go for the interview or not? I'm confused!

A few things you should realize:

1) Harvard is a very difficult school to get into. Last year Harvard received over 20,000 applications and accepted less than 10%.

2) IF you think you’ll get an interview without going through the normal application process (an application including an essay and a personal statement, teacher recommendations / evaluations, etc), it’s not going to happen. So, if you haven’t done that (and it kind of sounds like maybe you haven’t) you better get on the ball, because the deadline is FAST approaching. AND by the way, when you write that essay and personal statement, you might want to let someone review it for you before you send it in. A COLLAGE is a work of art, a COLLEGE is an institution of higher learning.

What do your SAT scores look like? Even with straight A’s all throughout school, they want HIGH SAT scores.

With that said, if you do get an interview, of course you should go. Harvard is considered to be one of the most prestigious schools in the country. A degree from Harvard can open many doors for you.

And if you’re considering not going to college at all (you said "after I really thought, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go to collage at all")…well, it would be very unintelligent for you not to go.

My source:
Oldest son applied for Harvard this year and even with A/B’s all throughout school, honors classes, AP classes, class ranking in the top 10% of his class, and a near perfect score on the math section of the SAT (780 out of 800, which means he missed *one* question), his school counselor told him not to get his hopes up, because admission to Harvard is incredibly competitive.

An interview doesn't mean you have to sign up. Harvard is a very tough school to get into honey, and yes, it would be honor, BUT if it's not for you, don't do something to satisfy your parents. This is your life, and if you want to be happy, you have to make it your journey. If there's a guilt factor involved, then do the interview, check it out and make your decision from there. Who knows, maybe once they realize the tuition fees, they'll have a change of heart themselves.

Chances are that you have a really good college within commuting range.
If nothing else, you can work while going to a community college to knock out some basic course credits for a cheaper tuition rate.
You may also consider an associate's degree job training program so you can fast-track into the work world, then go back to school once you figure out what you really want to do.

Yes, you should go to the interview. College is something that you need to do in order to be successful. If you don't think that Harvard is the right college for you, then let your parents know. College is a big step..and you should find one that you feel fits your needs the best. Research them on your own.

go ahead and interview, you might like it. if you don't, try another college (you won't earn much money without a degree, unless you get lucky). then if you still don't like your options, try to find a decent job and a man.
