My cousin is getting baptised tomorrow, and this sounds really mean, but my friend who just flew in from out of town is here, and she wants to hang out. I was just wondering how long a baptism for a baby usually is?

Baptisms don't take very long, 15 minutes at the most.
It will probably occur as part of the morning church service.
However, this does not sound like baptism being done the Biblical Way.
In the early church baptism only occured after someone decided to become a believer and baptism was done by immersion since the word "baptism" means "to immerse".

I am a littlwe confused why a baby will need to be baptised and the bible does not teach this unless they belong to the catholic church where they do this sort of thing.
Water Baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward transaction, the acceptance of Jesus Christ. It pictures the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and of the new believer. It indicates that the person is admitting death to the old nature and life to the new nature. It is following the example of Jesus Christ, Who was baptized by John the Baptist. It is a work of righteousness. (Matthew 3:15)
A person should be baptized soon after trusting Jesus Christ as personal Savior. Since it is a picture of the salvation of the person, baptism should not precede salvation. Infant baptism is not correct for two reasons: (1) No infant is baptized in the Bible. (2) An infant has not made a personal acceptance of the Savior as payment of sins.

An infant baptism usually only takes a few minutes. I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to do both.

Go to the Baptism. Is a very important sacrament, for the remission of original sin.
Edit: immersion, infusion, and aspersion are all equally valid.

Not very long - go to your cousin's baptism, it's family. You'll also have plenty of time to spend with your friend.

Not very long, perhaps no more than 20 minutes. Tell your friend this was planned event and ask her if she would like to a witness of this child's life and go on as planned.

That is an important day for the family, but a real baptism takes place after a person has been saved through Jesus Christ, and has realized thier salvation.
