Fleas eat, so they have to poop.
This is usually how you tell whether an animal has fleas or not: you look in its hair and if you see little specks of "flea dirt" in there, the animal has fleas. You don't always see the actual bugs. "Flea dirt" is actually flea poop.

Yes, of course they do - like every lifeform, they have to excrete the waste products of what they eat!

You will probably be able to see the flea's poo on your pets, if you have any - they look like black specks, kind of comma or spiral shaped, where they've spiralled out of the flea's ***! People often mistake these poos ('dirts') for flea eggs, but flea eggs are actually microscopic.

Yep! They sure do! Groomers refer to it as "flea dirt". If there is a large amount of fleas on your dog then when you wash him the water will run red like blood.

FYI....If you want a natural way to rid your carpet of fleas then use table salt. Fleas do not like salt and when you salt your carpets they go away. Over time of vacuuming, the salt will be sucked up.

of course fleas pass stool. When they bite your pet they ingest blood, when that blood is digested it is passed out by the flea as dark specks of what looks like dirt. You need to get your pets on a flea product and treat your apartment

Well, your friend is right. Flea "poop" is called "flea dirt". It is partially digested blood from the host, left over to feed the flea larvae. The larvae feed on the partially digested blood until they mature into adults and bite the host to get fresh blood as food, leaving partially digested blood as waste to feed their larvae.
