Ok I was wondering if I have Bulimia. I heard that to be considered Bulimic you have to binge and purge. I don't binge, I eat 3 meals a day everyday, but I throw up 1-2 times a day. Am I bulimic?

I'm not proud and I don't like doing this to myself. I hate doing this, it's not something I want to keep doing to myself. Thanks for everyone's advice, I really do need help.

I am sure you have an eating disorder and you need to seek help as soon as possible! I went through the same thing for years, and it started out for me as just eating meals, and purging what I ate. I didn't binge for a while, so I didn't think I had a problem. Eventually I started throwing up everything I ate, and then would be so hungry that I would binge (and purge) a few times a day. I was diagnosed with anorexia, with bingeing and purging tendencies. Please get help now, or it can lead you into a bad cycle....you don't want it to get that way! Oh and also mine started like throwing up once a week, so if you are already doing it once or twice a day, that is really A LOT of purging and is really bad for your body. Email me if you want to talk, I am now in recovery and I still struggle but you can totally get better! Please talk to someone! Good luck.

If you are bullimic read the following:
Bulimia, also called bulimia nervosa, is a psychological eating disorder. Bulimia is characterized by episodes of binge-eating followed by inappropriate methods of weight control (purging). Inappropriate methods of weight control include vomiting, fasting, enemas, excessive use of laxatives and diuretics, or compulsive exercising. Excessive shape and weight concerns are also characteristics of bulimia. A binge is an episode where an individual eats a much larger amount of food than most people would in a similar situation. Binge eating is not a response to intense hunger. It is usually a response to depression, stress, or self esteem issues. During the binge episode, the individual experiences a loss of control. However, the sense of a loss of control is also followed by a short-lived calmness. The calmness is often followed by self-loathing. The cycle of overeating and purging usually becomes an obsession and is repeated often.
Sufferers consume huge quantities of food. Sometimes up to 20,000 calories at a time. The foods on which they binge tend to be foods labeled as "comfort foods" -- sweet foods, high in calories, or smooth, soft foods like ice cream, cake, and pastry. An individual may binge anywhere from twice a day to several times daily.

It's sad to read about this. I'm afraid you are bulimic. It's best to consult your parents or a counselor regarding this situation. Being bulimic is like a habit! a scary habit! Why did you make yourself do this in the first place? Be strong and try to resist the urge to throw up. bite your teeth until it bleeds and scrunch up your stomach if you have to! its the fight between you and yourself! be proud of who you are! God bless you, girl. Take care. we're here for you...

You may be. I would suggest you talk to someone you trust and definitely make an appointment to see a doctor before your condition worsens. Long term purging causes major adverse effects on your body- search the web.. do some research. If you're not happy with your weight walk daily, eliminate carbs, eats more fresh fruits and veggies and drink plenty of water. You can acheive your goal and still be, and look, healthy.

Yes. If you eat and then throw up intentionally, you are bulimic. It can cause serious long term damage to your body. Bulimia and the lack of nutrition caused from excessive vomiting can mess up your hormonal balance and menstrual cycle. You could get ovarian cysts from it and seriously jeopardize your body's fertility and the chance to have children in the future. Please get some help!

Yes. Forcing yourself to throw up in order to maintain or lose weight is considered bulimic. You don't have to binge, just the fact that you force yourself to vomit is a problem. Please save and respect your body. It is very hard on your system. Good luck!
