i was hurting for a week and a half. if the dentist didnt give u pain meds. call him and ask for some. i was given vicodin. if they arent open til monday try over the counter tylenol to get through the weekend. also keep in mind that there is a chance that the root xcanal can fail meaning that the tooth may end up being extracted.

I have had two root canal's and each one of them took around two week's to finally stop hurting the frist few day's were really rough but the pain finially ebbed away . I was prscribed pain medicine for them . orajel will work if you are only dealing with light pain but if the pain stay's you need to go back in to get a check up on it to make sure it isn't infected. I hope you feel better soon.

I had a root canal done a year ago and it took 3 days to feel better. I was told to put an ice pack on the side that it was done on. That did help!

If you had it Wednesday and today is Saturday the pain should be decreasing. A common problem is pain whenever you bite down. The dentist can quickly adjust this and make you feel better soon. If the pain is there when you're not chewing something else is wrong and your dentist needs to see you.

better get it checked. I had a root canal and the pain went away after 1 day. But I also had veneers (which suck) put on so maybe its different.

If it is still hurting A LOT then there is a problem. A few days of sensitivity is one thing but a lot is not right. Take some Tylenol and call the dentist.

It should have gone away by now. Take some advil or motrin to help the inflammation and pain. If it still hurts on Monday, call your dentist.

Assuming there is NO infection........when the swelling goes down. Also, you have been cut....and THAT has to heal too.

Baby that area when chewing and rince with something....Perhaps a mixture of Hydrogen Peroxide or something along those lines...Ask you Dr. about any and ALL of this.
