I have met 2 people recently with unusual tattoos, and I think they might have special meanings that someone might know. One tattoo I saw is an outline of heart inside the upper ear...in what a doctor would call the pinna....outline of a green heart.
The other one is a tattoo of a outline of a star, right behind the ear.
Any ideas of any special significance these might have?

well on both girls that have this I have wondered it is a signal for "i am a lesbian" .
not trying to stir anything up. just thought there might be a secret code

In my lifetime tattoo went from mainly the criminal class,
& low social orders such as exotic dancers, merchant seamen, or military who likewise engaged in private signals
to denote sexual orientation, etc.-etc. Growing fashionable
the exchange of covert intelligence dimished if only because
our social elite are too witless for same. If secret meanings are returning I'd see the practice as proof anew that history repeats itself. A small tattoo below and slightly behind an ear used to mean, depending upon left or right, a sexual agenda.

To be honest, I really doubt if the placement means anything. I've got a friend with a dove behind her ear, and she only got it there because she likes being able to hide it with her hair. As for inside the ear, I've seen them on BME and no one ever says anything about placement meaning. I'd say the people just chose them because they were interesting spots to get small tattoos.

its your tattoo.. it means what you say it means.... no one else can tell you what it means. it could be anything... and if he doesnt believe you about your own body... then maybe he isnt ready to be in a relationship with you
