Q: If not for evolution, how do you explain the vestigial tail in humans?

A: God was trying to trick us so we would go to Hell.

Before birth it is an actual tail and it is a common known thing. However, are there actually people who believe 'god tricks us so we would go to hell" like your pal said?

Sisterze asks why are there not half evolved people in the world. There are. Deformed teeth are caused because our jaws are still evolving to a smaller size and shape causing less room for our teeth. Thus the need for children to wear teeth braces or have displaced teeth removed.
Another feature of evolution is common back ache problems. These are caused by our difficulty in walking upright as our body being still slightly off balance from our early develoment.
The statement 'God gave us a vestigal tail to tempt us to hell' is typical of creationists and insults our intelligence. It is like religous people who, in the war, said St. Pauls Cathedral was saved by God but then going on to say Coventry Cathedral was destroyed to show God shares in our sufferring! "You pays your money and takes your choice!"

Vestigal? Some humans are actually born with a tail:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tail_(anatomy)
[Excerpt]
"Human embryos have a tail that measures about one-sixth of the size of the embryo itself. As the embryo develops into a fetus, the tail is absorbed by the growing body. The developmental tail is thus a human vestigial structure. Infrequently, a child is born with a "soft tail", which contains no vertebrae, but only blood vessels, muscles, and nerves, although there have been a very few documented cases of tails containing cartilage or up to five vertebrae. Modern procedures allow doctors to eliminate the tail at delivery. The longest human tail on record belonged to a twelve-year-old boy living in what was then French Indochina, which measured 229 mm (9 inches).[1] A man named Chandre Oram, who was born in India, is famous because of his 13-inch tail. Nonetheless, it is not believed to be a true tail but a case of spina bifida. Sara Herandi, a female, was another similar case but to a smaller extent (approximately 5-inches), her case was more abnormal as her tail contained hair that resembled that of a squirell's tail.[citation needed]

Humans have a tail bone (the coccyx) attached to the pelvis, in the same place which other mammals have tails. The tail bone is formed of fused vertebrae, usually four, at the bottom of the vertebral column. It doesn't protrude externally, but retains an anatomical purpose: providing an attachment for muscles like the gluteus maximus."

[Excerpt and X-ray image]
"Figure 2.2.3. X-ray image of an atavistic tail found in a six-year old girl. A radiogram of the sacral region of a six-year old girl with an atavistic tail. The tail was perfectly midline and protruded form the lower back as a soft appendage. The five normal sacral vertebrae are indicated in light blue and numbered; the three coccygeal tail vertebrae are indicated in light yellow. The entire coccyx (usually three or four tiny fused vertebrae) is normally the same size as the fifth sacral vertebrae. In this same study, the surgeons reported two other cases of an atavistic human tail, one with three tail vertebrae, one with five. All were benign, and only one was surgically 'corrected' for cosmetic reasons (image reproduced from Bar-Maor et al. 1980, Figure 3.)"

These peopl are such tards...sorry...but they all discuss what they know about the tail, and not one person has made a point regarding their knowledge. It's like monkeys....can't do 2 things at once!! ;-)

It's very insane, the way these nutters answer "god tricked us so we go to hell", it's organised laziness....that's what religion is.
It's an ABOMINATION.

There is one law in this universe : cause and effect.
The human tail is an effect of our evolution.
Either that or the genome created by our alien genitors was mixed with animals'......

I don't agree. God is much more practical than that. The vestigial tail in humans has an important role in allowing the sphincter muscles to operate properly. Believe me, thank God you have it.

It's not a vestigial tail, it's the last vertebrae of our spinal column and without it our bowel would not have the protection the coccyx affords it.

First, you need to prove that it is a tail.
