I really confused..When did Pope Benedict XVI actually become pope?! The 24th or 19th?

Pope Benedict XVI, at the age of 78, became the 265th pope on April 19, 2005 after he was elected and then accepted the position.
He was formally installed as pope on April 24th (but he became pope on April 19th).
