Many religions have this idea. What would be the point in following a religion if that religion over there is equal in truth?

I guarantee that if you study Islam with an open mind you will agree with it. It is the only religion that DOES NOT contradict science. So many "discoveries" in science and medicine made in the 20th century are in the Quran, which was revealed in the 7th century. Take time to study things with an open mind. What do you have to lose? Check it out.

It all depends on how you were brought up, in what tradition. Usually people believe what they are brought up to believe.

It is not just Muslims who fall prey to this thinking. All religions think that their religion is the only "right religion".

All religions believe that...the difference with Islam is that with other religions, they go door-to-door and try to convert people, whereas with Islam, they go and crash planes into large, significant buildings in other countries.

the religion of Islam is based on a prophet named mohammad who claimed that God spoke to him, the religion of Islam is different from many others in that it proclaims that those who do not believe like them should be put to death, the name Islam, means = submission. everything they do is based on forcing others to accept their point of view. However, there are those muslims who are indeed peaceful, and all they want is to get along with others. Christianity is the Only faith, that has sacrified himself (God) for the sins of the whole world, and it is the only one that say's: I'am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the father but by me. No other religion can make that claim, it was only done by jesus. jesus shed his blood, mohammad shed other people's blood. I suggest to you, read a book called, kingdom of the cults, it is very informative to say the least, and it compares all of the religions of the world with christianity, and their differences.
